This page needs some cleaning up to be presentable. Most if not all of what are listed here are Web Original tropes, not New Media tropes. (New Media Are Evil and Old Media Are Evil are New Media tropes, to show the difference.)

"New media" for our purposes means computers, the Internet, and everything on them: blogs, podcasts, machinima, online collaborative fics (see: Orion's Arm), games, and - since we are here - wikis.

The Old Media also tend to have a bee in their bonnet about infringement, since a lot of New Media stand in a sort of gray area in regards to copyright. Aside from half of the kinds of Fan Work, including the aforementioned Machinima, there's also this Emulation.
