- Cult Classic
- Ear Worm: Nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop this song getting in your head!
- The Everyman/The Generic Guy: Danny
- Freud Was Right: Darla appears to be trying to seduce Danny in part of her show-stopping "Big And Loud". "Leaves ya kinda speechless, don't it?"
- Moral Event Horizon: Darla and Max cross it when they sabotage Danny's chance to impress L.B. Mammoth (or, more specifically, their method of doing so). They do so by flooding the stage with so much water that it practically drowns the entire studio (which, if this were realistic, would have killed lots of people).
- Nightmare Fuel: "Big and Loud", and Darla in general. What makes her scary is just how disturbingly straight her sociopathy is played.
- Retroactive Recognition: Lauren Faust's first job in the animation industry was as one of the animators for Sawyer.
