- Emily Elizabeth's best human friend, Nina, is Carmen Lopez, while her other friend and sometimes babysitter, Evan, is Eddie Thomas from That's So Raven.
- Clifford's best friend and Nina's dog, Jorge, is both Wakko Warner and the current announcer for Americas Funniest Home Videos.
- Clifford's other friend, Norville, is The Fonz
Cross-Dressing Voices: As mentioned above, Lara Jill Miller is Clifford as a puppy.
The Other Darrin: They did not replace any of the characters on the the show in the strictest sense, but in the original 80s specials, Emily Elizabeth was voiced by Alyson Court. On the 2000s series, she was voiced by Grey De Lisle. Possibly also Lampshaded by the fact that both had a vastly different art style from each other.
Talking to Herself: Grey De Lisle is Emily Elizabeth and her mother.
