Isekai by Moonlight/Trivia
Trivia about Isekai by Moonlight includes:
- Actor Allusion: "Smug Ami isn't very nice to listen to; she reminded me too much of Arisa Sono from All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku." Both characters were played by Aya Hisakawa in their canon works.
- Shout-Out:
- When they were sent to another dimension, Robu-san downloaded Shadowjack Watches Sailor Moon and Ryou downloaded a copy of what existed of Dungeon Keeper Ami in 2017, so that Ami and Makoto could read them.
- Sword-wielding Original Characters Ichiro and Sakura were named after the characters in Sakura Taisen.
- During Chapter S in a conversation between two of the isekai characters:
"You nearly died while we were living out the Sailor Moon R story, and now you've nearly died while we're living out the Sailor Moon S story. Do it again during the Sailor Moon SuperS story and I'll have to invent TV Tropes early just to add you as an example of Once a Season." |
- The canon trope-naming In the Name of the Moon speech occasionally includes a sentence about how a relevant famous or trailblazing person might forgive the malefactor, but Sailor Moon will not. Isekai by Moonlight follows this pattern on occasion. In order:
- During the figure-skating lesson trap: "Kristi Yamaguchi might forgive you, but I will not!" Kristi Yamaguchi won an Olympic gold medal for figure skating in 1992.
- At the grocery store where the Dark Moon's "Dark Fruit" was being sold: "Shizuo Tsuji may forgive you, but I will not!" Shizuo Tsuji, head of the Ecole Technique Hotelier Tsuji and author of Japanese Cookery: a simple art, passed away on March 9, 1993.
- During the chess match between Berthier and Mercury: "Naoko Takemoto might forgive you, but I will not!" Naoko Takemoto won the Japanese Women's Chess Championship every year between 1979 and 1994, and placed sixth in the 1987 Women's World Chess Championships.
- When the Death Busters had Usagi trapped at the Tokyo Tower and a replacement Sailor Moon had to rescue her: "Tsuru Hiromi might forgive you, but I will not!" One of the most famous seiyuu at the time, Hiromi Tsuru was also a model in her younger years.
- During the summer festival where the taiko player's Pure Heart was extracted: "Oguchi Daihachi might forgive you, but I will not!" The Other Wiki tells us that "Master Japanese drummer Daihachi Oguchi is credited with inventing kumi-daiko, the taiko ensemble, in 1951."
