Author Existence Failure: Ludwig Bemelmans passed on in 1962, leaving Madeline in America unfinished (the story has already been completed, but the illustration hasn't). Bemelmans' grandson, John Bemelmans-Marciano, eventually completed the illustrations and got the book published. He has worked on all new Madeline books published since.
Celebrity Voice Actor: Christopher Plummer narrated all of the original specials and the 1993 and 1995 series.

Hey, It's That Voice!:
- Chloe's first voice actress was none other than Tara Strong.
- Madeline's fourth VA was Chantal Strand, who went on to play Cassie in Dragon Tales and Bijou in Hamtaro.
- Madeline's third VA was Andrea Libman, who later went on to voice Emmy in Dragon Tales and Harmony Bear. Most recently, she was spotted playing Lemon Meringue in the 2009 revamp of Strawberry Shortcake, and as both Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy in My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic.
- (Third Season) Pepito was the new Huckleberry Pie!
- Kelly Sheridan was Danielle's first voice actor. Ingest that.
  - Well, lets just say that there is some pretty impressive names tied to the franchise.
Keep Circulating the Tapes: For a while. After the Golden Books Video/DVD releases and the show being pulled from DiC's Saturday morning block, it was nowhere to be found.... Until recently, when Shout! Factory started releasing new DVDs of the series.
- However, while the specials are finally released, they are only available from digital download stores, which are region-locked and thus pushes the official releases into No Export for You territory.
- Hulu has 59 episodes, but none of the specials. Also, did we mention that Hulu will not let you have a crack at the videos if you're neither in the US nor Germany?
No Export for You: While the episodes (and some of the specials) are receiving DVD releases thanks to Shout! Factory, some of the 1988-1993 specials are still this- since they're only released as a digital download on region-locked online stores. Most notably, Madeline's Christmas, which for some reason isn't on the Shout! Factory DVD of the same name and is only available for download off Amazon.com Unbox, which blocks out non-US downloaders.
The Other Darrin: The cast went through a few changes in the cartoon. In particular, Madeline herself went through 4 different voice actors through the series and specials.
Relationship Voice Actor:
- Third Madeline and Fourth Madeline would later appear together as Emmy and Cassie in Dragon Tales. Then even later as Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie, and Diamond Tiara in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
- Tara Strong (Then Tara Charendoff) and Andrea Libman, who'd later appear together as Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy/Pinkie Pie.
Screwed by the Network: Playhouse Disney continued airing it long after people stopped watching it on that channel and were paying more attention to Rolie Polie Olie, PB&J Otter, Out of the Box, etc; eventually in June 2002 it was pushed back to 6 A.M. in the morning when kids weren't even awake to watch it, and eventually when block rearranged it's schedule in January 2003 it was quietly removed from the block (though this was more likely due to their license expiring and them not wanting to renew).
- ABC removed the show after seven airings in 1995.
Talking To Herself: You get that when Miss Clavel talks to Genevieve in the animated series. Although Genevieve could only bark back.
