• Gone Horribly Wrong: Before Moira made her huge debut, it was accepted by the fans due to some in-game interactions, that Dr. Ziegler transformed Gabriel into Reaper due her trying to saving him combine with a Rezzing gone wrong.
• Mad Scientist: A mild form of how Mercy is a mad scientist to fans was that she used Gabe as a human guinea pig or had an accident with rezzing him and eventually transforms him into Reaper. Mainly due to the interaction lines in the game.

• • Until, it was retcon that Moira work her magic on Reyes. Thus making lore! Mercy into a literal angel.
• The Lindholm kids that appeared in the "Reflections" comics, are they Torbjorn's kids or Reinhardts'.
  • It was later reveal that they are Torb's kids or grandkids.
• Brigitte's age and used to be twenty-eight and the oldest Lindholm kid, but now her age is twenty-three and the youngest.
• Gabriel got jealous of his best friend, Jack Morrison, because the latter became the leader of Overwatch and Reyes was passed over a promotion.
  • Kinda retcon, since a reporter was just speculating that there's a power struggle betwixt the two, since OW fell and Reyes left and eventually join Talon.
• Hana Song used to be a StarCraft pro-player.
• Pharah used to be pure Egyptian. But due to one of her skins, the writers decided to make her biracial.
• Lucio's slowly getting "erase", like his in-game presence in maps and such were edit out.
  • This fan worriness was retcon, since Overwatch 2 was announced and the Brazilian DJ/freedom fighter has a bigger role.
