Santa Claus (film)/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

YMMV tropes in the movie Santa Claus:

  • Crowning Moment of Heartwarming: When Santa makes it possible for the Lonely Rich Kid to be able to see him as he is and the little boy immediately hugs him on sight. Plus, pretty much any moment Lupita is on the screen.
  • Memetic Molester: Both Santa and Pitch skirt around this.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • The very creepy animatronic Santa in a store window.
    • The laughing robot reindeer will inspire some spectacular nightmares, too.
    • The monitor with lips on it.
    • A more straight example is Pitch getting the three boys to fight amongst each other. It's the only time he actually seems evil, with appropriate music (for a change) - a menacing slow bass piano riff..

Pitch: Go ahead, beat your brains out! At least I got them fighting -- Lucifer will be so pleased.

    • Hell. Yes, there are demons dancing around in Hell, in a Christmas movie. What were they thinking?
  • Paranoia Fuel: Santa has a machine that can see your dreams.
    • Santa can also listen in on your private conversations. *shudder*
  • Tastes Like Diabetes: Lupita
  • Unfortunate Implications:
    • Stereotyped kids of various nationalities working in Toyland. The African representatives in particular.
    • The whole subtle implication that all these kids are Santa's slaves...
    • The rich kid's parents suddenly realize how lonely their son is and return home to be with him - but only after drinking a magical cocktail.
  • The Woobie: Lupita. Awww...
