Complete Monster: Benoit Manderubrot. Callous, manipulative and sociopathic, Benoit ordered Jutah to slaughter innocent civilians while acting as his superior officer on Tarakhan. Then years later he betrays his penal squadron and the Dante's operators so he can murder the entire crew with biochemical monsters, hijack the whole ship and then use it to cruise around the cosmos, causing as much mayhem and carnage as possible. For one reason alone. Of course he also attempts to coax Jutah into joining him, knowing that he would be susceptible given the fact that Benoit destroyed his personality. And when he is denied the chance to use the Dante's Wave Motion Gun to destroy Hornet, he decides to crash the gargantuan vessel into the planet instead. Because he thinks it would look awesome.
Funny Aneurysm Moment: SB is quite possibly the first ever 3D "Spectacle-Action" game and it preceded Devil May Cry by two years. The main thrust of the plot has the protagonist attempting to destroy "Dante". How prophetic.
Magnificent Bastard: Benoit Manderubrot.
Moral Event Horizon: Jutah crosses it during the prologue, and is permanently emotionally dead as a result. Complete with the screams of small children cut off by his explosions. Damn.
Narm Charm: The entire game. The fact that it takes itself so seriously yet is so hilariously overacted is a big part of it's appeal.
Needs More Love: Possibly the Playstation 1's most defining example. Given that it's development company still exists and is relatively successful due to their anime adaption games, the possibility of a remake or sequel are not beyond the realms of possibility.
That One Boss: The Blue Mist commander is quite tricky, but the battle with Benoit is merciless.
Title Confusion: The game's title lead many to think that the game was some kind of Stealth Action Adventure rushed out to cash in on the popularity of Metal Gear Solid, which had only been released seven months prior. Given how bad so many of these titles were due to the lacklustre quality of their stealth gameplay most people steered clear of Silent Bomber. The title refers to Jutah and his stoic personality rather than his methods, which are anything but.
