Breaking the Fourth Wall: During the big reveal in Return, Angela after revealing herself yet again. has a moment of hysterical laughter before quickly looking directly at the camera before its cut to credits. Viewers have debated this as either her getting serious before rushing the rest of the cast or that The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You.
Fridge Logic: Return ignores the previous films, so Angela never had a sex change, so she should still be a man, yet during The Reveal and The Stinger, she is obviously female, and no explanation is given as to why.
- The filmmakers apparently once said that the killer isn't Peter, it's the real Angela.
It Was His Sled: The film is famously remembered as a Cult Classic for the Twist Ending alone: Angela is a man.
Jerkass Woobie: Alan in Return.
Money Making Shot: ~~Angela~~ Peter standing up, revealing all ~~her~~ his body to the viewer, holding a knife and hissing like an animal. That image will be forever burned into the darkest corners of your mind.
Nightmare Fuel: Admit it. The ending in the first movie scared you shitless.
Rooting for the Empire: With victims like these, it's not really that hard.
- Crowning Moment Of Horror: Might as well be trope namer. "Good" people getting punished? Check. Punishment fitting the crime? Check. Break the Cutie, mile long Freudian Excuse, actually sympathizing with the character, wanting them to keep killing and get rid of all these people? Check, check, check, and check.
