Solo: A Star Wars Story is a 2018 science fiction western film that is the second installment of Star Wars Anthology and directed by Ron Howard. It is an origin story for Han Solo and his pal Chewbacca. It got mixed reviews and is the first live-action Star Wars film to be considered a box office bomb.

Tropes used in Solo: A Star Wars Story include:
- Big Bad: Dryden Vos.
- Bigger Bad: Maul.
- The Cameo: Maul only appeared at the very end.
- Evil Brit: While Dryden Vos isn't a British human, he has that accent.
- Foregone Conclusion: Since it takes place between Revenge of the Sith and Rogue One, we can tell that Han and Chewie make it by the end.
- Opening Scroll: As with Rogue One, this was averted.
- Take That: The scene were Han shot first poked fun at the 1997 Special Edition of A New Hope, where Greedo shot first.
- Subverted Catchphrase: Han Solo says "I have a really good feeling about this" instead of the usual "I have a bad feeling about this" heard in other Star Wars films.
