• Executive Meddling: A former Shin'en level designer who went by the screen name "Collect-Thor" on YouTube recalled how he and his team had to deal with American Greetings imposing strict rules on what the characters can or cannot do. They wanted Strawberry to Goomba Stomp on enemies but this was vetoed by the licensor as it was deemed as too violent of an act for Strawberry and her friends to pull off, making the game harder than what was intended for the target audience.

  • Not by The Hub, but by Cartoon Network, which somehow acquired the rights to air programming featuring Hasbro's characters in most regions outside North America. Arguably, Cartoon Network's action of putting the show on it's sister channel, Boomerang, instead of on the main Cartoon Network channel itself, qualifies for this trope. Not only is Boomerang not as widely available worldwide as it's older sibling (to the point that there are countries in the world that have cable providers that do carry Cartoon Network but not Boomerang), in countries that do have both, Boomerang is typically a premium size-up package pay channel while the main Cartoon Network channel itself is a basic package pay channel. This severely limits the availability of the show.
  • After much pressure (remember that SSC has a berry, berry strong fanbase in Malaysia), Cartoon Network has agreed to air SSC:BBA on the main channel in addition to Boomerang. However, the episodes are not only one whole season behind Boomerang, they're aired at an ungodly time of 6 AM, with no repeats- it only gets one slot for the whole day (It airs twice a day on Boomerang, and at more reasonable times too). Comparatively, CN airs their Cash Cow Franchise Ben 10, about 10 times a day, and lots of old classic shorts and originals reruns that belong on Boomerang in the first place. If that's not being screwed by the network, I don't know what is.
• Hey, It's That Voice!:
  • 1980s specials: Russi Taylor, best known these days as Minnie Mouse and Martin Prince, but nearly inescapable for any 80's cartoon watcher, is Strawberry Shortcake. This is actually her earliest listed voiceover credit at IMDb.
  • 2009 relaunch: The switch from the relatively low-key in-house voice actors of DiC to The Ocean Group resulted in:
    • Strawberry Shortcake is Pepper Potts and a G3 Rainbow Maned Pony who DRESSES IN STYLE;
    • Orange Blossom is Snarf and more notably, G3 Pinkie Pie;
    • Plum Pudding is actually a Care Bear in disguise. Much notably, she's also both G4 Applejack and Rainbow Dash
    • Lemon Meringue is a French redhead and also both G4 Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy.
    • Blueberry Muffin is from Toyland. And no wonder she is also a Breezie in disguise.
• The Other Darrin: Played straight then later inverted with Huckleberry Pie. Daniel Canfield was replaced with James Street in the 2003 series, but the latter died in a skateboarding accident, prompting Daniel Canfield to reprise his role.
