Talk:Awful British Sex Comedy

Somebody with some time can look through wikipedia:Category:British sex comedy films and figure out which ones are Awful British Sex Comedies and which are merely British Sex Comedies.

"Awful" is subjective so in reality this should be YMMV. We can't turn this into "useful notes" for that reason. If this is really YMMV, then placing the restriction that examples have to be "British Sex Comedies" is too limiting. I doubt anyone is willing to trope with such a specific thing, especially considering they can just go to So Bad It's Horrible. Therefore, I vote to just delete it.

Trust me, the vast majority of these are awful. Sturgeon's Law applies here just as it does everywhere else; it's just that here the awfulness isn't noticed while the movies are playing because the viewers are Distracted by the Sexy.

The call is for somebody to look at Wikipedia's list and weed out the few that aren't awful.

Exactly how do we define "awful"? Do we go with the judgement of whoever is watching the film, or off review scores, or something else? I am not sitting through 92 British sex comedies to pick out the 80 awful ones, ruling out the first option.

I suggest we give this the same treatment we give to tropes in the Trope Workshop. Give it 6 months. If no one wants to work on this in 6 months, delete it.
