New editor, editing suggestion, unsure how to do it

 * Re bulletpoint line under "Author appeal"
"Not sure if this counts, but the Radio Birdman album Radios Appear is named after a lyric from BOC's Dominance and Submission."

I think it does count and it's a good add, but is there a namespace here for "Homage" or "Referenced By", or nearest equivalent? Again, forgive me, I'm here as a migrant from TV Topes and I need to spend time learning how things are done here.

You've made the edit, and that's fine, another mod approved it in Moderation. To answer your question, well, first off, MediaWiki doesn't do namespacing the way you're used to from TVT. We use subpages and categories. The subpages "hang off of" the main page -- to use this page as an example, there is the main page, Blue Öyster Cult. And then there are its subpages, Blue Öyster Cult/Trivia and Blue Öyster Cult/YMMV. (These all live in what MediaWiki calls the "Main" namespace, which is the default content area. There are a dozen or so other namespaces, like Talk, File, and User; these get prefixed to a page name to identify where a page lives. For instance, if you look up at the top of this page, you'll see it's called "Talk:Blue Öyster Cult", which means it lives in the Talk namespace.)

Anyway, at the bottom of every page is a list of the categories it's in. If you want to see all the Blue Öyster Cult pages in one place, what TVT calls an "index", you just look in Category:Blue Öyster Cult. (This won't usually include the talk page, but will include images if they've been tagged with the category.) If you want to see all Trivia pages, that's Category:Trivia. And so on. It's a bit more intuitive than putting all the Trivia pages in one physical location, all the main pages in another, etc. Oh, and the categories are automatically generated -- put a category entry on a page, and it automatically appears on the category page.

That said, "Homage" or "Referenced By" would be the kind of thing you'd put on the Trivia page.

Now... as far as learning how we do things here is concerned, a good place to start is our page So You're a TV Tropes Refugee. Beyond that, you should probably also look at:

We have a lot of other pages that might answer questions you might have -- they can be found in either or both of the categories Wiki Policy and Administrivia. (We apologize for the poor organization of these pages; we're in the middle of a project to reorganize them, but it's incomplete and has been on hold for a while.)

You can also pose questions (like the above) to us mods on a Talk page, and at least one of us should answer. An easy way to get our attention is to add the template {{admins}} to the end of your message, which will produce the list of "@"-pings you'll see below my signature.

In any case, welcome to the wiki, and we look forward to your continued contributions!
