The trope has a much better description now - thank you, @Umbire the Phantom!

While there's always room for more polish, eventually we get to the point where perfect is the enemy of good. I think we're at that point now for this trope.

Can we re-launch this?

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

Yes.

Lequinni (talkcontribs)

Yes!

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

Done!

This trope was moved back to the Workshop two years ago because it only has a one-sentence description. Can anybody do anything to fix the description?

Umbire the Phantom (talkcontribs)

My inclination is to emphasize the "Freeze" part, though I'm also wondering how integral the "credits roll" part is to the idea of the trope before I make a move with that.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

That's a good point. Not requiring a credit-roll over the freeze-frame would expand the scope of the trope... Anybody have an opinion on this?

Pinging @Looney Toons, who knows more about this topic than I do IIRC.

I seem to recall a couple of productions that ended on a freeze-frame without credits to emphasize ...something... whose existence implied an "Or is it?" kind of ending but which was ignored by or unknown to the cast. So yeah, I'd say that the credits aren't mandatory -- but as the old saying goes, that's the way to bet.
