(I don't know what to do with this.)

Arcade seven game modes:

  • Capture the Flag is were the objective is to capture the other team's flag.
  • Control has two teams duke it out and try to capture a point in a best-of-three format.
  • Assault is were a team must capture two points, while the defending team prevents them or dies trying.
  • Escort is were a team must escort some sort of payload to the delivery point, while the defending team tries to prevent them from doing this while there's a timer.
  • Hybrid combines two different types of game modes together.
  • Deathmath is a free-for-all were eight players try to kill each other.
  • Elimination is a smaller mode were gamers fight alone, teams of three, or six against another group in a first-to-three format. Bonus: There's no respawning.
  • Seasonal game modes are Exactly What It Says on the Tin and shows up during specific seasons and holidays' events. Though these modes' maps and styles differ.

If the gameplay and story have been significantly changed and it's own game, there's no harm in making a page for it.

Derivative (talkcontribs)

Plan for both, I imagine it's a new game though.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

I agree, it's likely to be a separate new game simply by virtue of the name. Final Fantasy II and Fallout 2 were not "version 2.0" of their respective predecessors, and I imagine that by now Overwatch had its 2.0 release a while ago. Which means, yes, it gets its own page.

Jade Shauni (talkcontribs)

Okay, I got confused since I also see stuff that ties in with the first game, besides, lore. There's the fact that skins and cosmetics can be transferred into OW2 and etc. Owners of the first game can get OW2 for free, and stuff like that (Plus, there's stuff that the fans have been begging Blizzard to do, like more lore, that got put in and/or addressed by OW2).

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

If something like a skin has to transfer that pretty much confirms that it's a new game. You usually don't have to transfer parts of a game to its own next revision.

Likewise the explicit mention that owners of Overwatch get Overwatch 2 for free. You would expect to get the 2.0 revision of a game for free.

RabidTanker (talkcontribs)

It might be an patch or something, LT, given that you normally don't get a sequel for free.

Jade Shauni (talkcontribs)

It's too early to tell if it's a patch or a whole new game, hence why I made this thread crying for help. The only thing that's a bit different is there's PVE.

Despite the Mess...

Can I remove the "Stubs" and the "Needs More Tropes", if not what else is there to put in?

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

I think both of those can come off the page, yes.

"Needs More Tropes" is for works with less than 8-12 tropes (call it 10 if you want a nice round number), so that should have come off the page a long time ago.

"Stubs" is more subjective, but this page has more than a window-full of description text on a big screen.
