Is Suspiciously Apropos Music a sister trope to it, or a sub-trope of it?
Talk:Suspiciously Apropos Music
Media Mirroring is a visual trope, while Suspiciously Apropos Music is an audio trope - they're related, but neither is a subtrope of the other.
I was thinking that too at first (hence why I added "compare" earlier). All the examples of Media Mirroring have a visual component, but I re-read the trope description of Media Mirroring and it doesn't explicitly require a visual component.
Hmmmmm... Media Mirroring made it out of the Trope Workshop with everybody just assuming that was in the description. Go figure.
Yes, you're right and the mods are wrong. (At least, this particular mod is wrong.) Suspiciously Apropos Music is a subtrope of Media Mirroring.
Thinking about it more, Media Mirroring states that it uses a Show within a Show, a show within a show as written is a show that doesn't exist IRL beyond its place in a fictional work. Suspiciously Apropos Music can use any music as long as it is fitting. It doesn't need to be custom made for the scene. Belly Mouth is considered on this wiki to be a subtrope of Too Many Mouths even though it doesn't have to be Too Many Mouths (as the belly mouth can be the only mouth on the creature).
I feel like I'm spending more of my time thinking about this than I should.
