Talk:Yandere (disambiguation)

There are a lot of links to this page, and they're ugly and shouldn't be there. Anyone up for fixing them? (I'm not, unless I'm allowed access to AWB or something, and I doubt I would be.) I also have to wonder why it's so important to have a bot that erases the old names of pages from everywhere they're linked -- if it didn't run we wouldn't have problems like this and I don't see how that could hurt anything. They don't do that kind of thing on TV Tropes or Wikipedia.

You don't need to be given access to AWB, only to request bot rights for a bot account, the program itself is open source and freely available.

As for fixing all the extra links, in what manner do you mean they are ugly? I'm not opposed to a cleanup, but I need more information as to why exactly they uglify the wiki.

Ok -- I thought I had to be added to Project:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage, but I infer that bots are automatically approved; I hadn't known that.

The links in question should be to Yandere (or Category:Yandere, which is equivalent) because they're about the trope, and as visible here and here (Ctrl+F for "disambiguation") they clutter the text with extra (disambiguation) when it should flow smoothly and only contain relevant words; even if they linked to the correct place they should be piped for that reason. In fact, that's always done with titles of the form "Foo (bar)" because the extra bit at the end is just there for the title's sake and clutters the text if left in the open.

You can ask an admin to give you bot access (you must create an account to be used as the bot account), and you can use AWB through that account.

If you don't wish to do that, I'll fire up Gethbot and see if I can't fix the problem for you. :)

Edit: I'll bot all those links to Yandere, so they'll link appropriately.

Just a note: "Category:Yandere" is no longer equivalent to "Yandere" - the description of the trope is no longer present on the category page.

Anything that points to the category should probably be fixed to point to the trope page.

A note: Every page that used to link to "Category:Yandere", except for this page, now links directly to "Yandere" instead.

"Yandere (trope)"? I thought a trope was always the primary topic, as Wikipedia calls it, for a page title. Thus the trope would be Yandere and this disambiguation page would be Yandere (disambiguation).
