Terminator: Dark Fate/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Anvilicious: A scene from the second trailer showing the REV-9 in its default form as a Mexican man killing its way through U.S Border Patrol officers, albeit on its mission to kill the main characters, is a rather heavy-handedd jab at U.S border patrol. A previous trailer also featured a scene of a large truck smashing through what looked like the Mexico–United States barrier.
  • Author's Saving Throw: In response to the criticism of Terminator: Salvation and Terminator: Genisys being rated PG-13, James Cameron officially declared that this film would be rated R, like the first two movies.
  • Fan Nickname: A rather controversial variant concerning the Rev-9 Terminator. Due to being played by an actor of Mexican heritage, having shapeshifting abilities from liquid metal and the film containing somewhat heavy-handed commentary on the Mexico-United States situation, some Terminator fans and people who disagree with this message have called the Rev-9 the "T-Juan thousand".
  • What Could Have Been:
    • An audio recoreding from the set revealed that John Connor was going to be killed off by another T-800 within the first 10 minutes of the movie. This T-800, free to make its own decisions with its primary mission complete, decided to integrate into human society, taking the name Carl and building itself a house to live in.
    • Another leak revealed that the event detailed above created a new timeline where an A.I called Legion rather than Skynet would rise to be a threat to humanity and Skynet was no more. In this timeline, a young woman named Dani Ramos rather than John Connor would be the new future hero of mankind.
