• Complete Monster: Every villain so far has had little to no redeeming qualities, but Dr. Caballus is the worst yet.
    • Captain Halberd, while not a villain, has also so far been nothing but a Jerkass. He basically treats Mare-Do-Well the way J. Jonah Jameson treats Spider-Man, except Captain Halberd has a more authorative position and can do more damage.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • Rainbow Dash's Imagine Spots in chapter 9 featuring an evil Pinkie Pie.
    • The Game Marester's form of And I Must Scream punishment to all of her victims, and Mr. P's transformation are also this.
    • Dr. Caballus performs experiments on werewolves, nagas, and ponies to force evolution. Some, if not most, of these experiments seem to require another pony to die.
    • At least ninety percent of chapter 11. Particularly glaring examples are the extreme increase in bloodshed compared to previous chapters, as well as Gummy's death. And then Pinkie's rage at his funeral, followed by ripping apart her Mare-Do-Well costume and writing a message on Gummy's grave in blood, which may or may not imply a future attempt at suicide, given one of the final lines.
  • Tear Jerker: When the Game Marester traps most of the mane six and Spike breaks into tears upon realizing just how doomed they are. Then Mare-Do-Well appears.
    • Gummy's death and subsequent funeral. And then Pinkie giving up on Mare-Do-Well, ripping apart her costume, and writing what may be a subtle suicide note on Gummy's grave in her own blood.
  • The Woobie: Pinkie Pie. Practically every chapter has something bad - funny or not - happen to her, from friends getting kidnapped to her pet being killed, and more often than not, she can't do a thing about it. Not without nearly killing herself, anyway, and even then...
