Actor Allusion: Kicked off Nicholas Cage's "Beige Volvo" trilogy. And then of course Connery's lines about being a British agent. Roger Ebert described the latter as "an in-joke the entire world gets."
- And this isn't the first film where Michael Biehn plays the leader of a Navy SEAL team.
Hey, It's That Guy!: One of the Marines is Perry Cox. Another is Detective Tritter, another is Gene Young, another is Detective Sanchez. Goodspeed's girlfriend is Sam Marquez from Las Vegas, the leader of the SEALs is Kyle Reese, and Ed Harris. Just...Ed Harris.
- One reviewer said of Ed Harris "the dude has a glare that would give Clint Eastwood chills." Probably why he was so damn unnerving in Enemy at the Gates.
- You should see the outtakes. It's Method Acting, but GODDAMN, is Harris scary.

- Turns out that before becoming White House Chief of Staff, Leo McGarry was Director of the FBI.
Throw It In: Much of Nicolas Cage's dialogue was ad-libbed (including the "Zeus's butthole" line, which Michael Bay wanted to cut but Cage insisted on having).
What Could Have Been: Goodspeed was originally going to be played by, of all people, Arnold Schwarzenegger. He turned it down because he didn't like the script.
