The episode opens with Carey scolding Cody for messing up the parlor of their suite, asking him to clean it up. Just After she leaves the room, Zack jumps out of a cushion and scares Cody. As retaliation, Cody grabs Zack by the legs and pins him down. A couple seconds later, Carey re-enters the room and asks Cody why he was "using Zack to clean the floor", later asking Zack why he scared Cody. She tells Zack that Cody is a sensitive child before telling them both to resume cleaning the room.
After the intro plays, in the lobby, we see Zack telling London, Cody, and Maddie about a remote-controlled fart prank that he is using on the bell hopper, Esteban. As Esteban is near a wealthy couple, he unsuccessfully explains that those weren't from him. Mr. Moseby interferes and excuses Esteban from the scene. When Esteban sees Zack, he tells him that he's tired of Zack's impractical jokes. Zack then tells the rest of the group about when he scared Cody earlier that day. London then notes about the ghost of Suite 613, who was a tenant who died in the hotel. Zack wants to enter the suite that night, but Cody doesn't want to. When Zack claims that Cody is too chicken, Cody denies it, instead stating that he ate lunch and need to wait one hour before entering the suite. Maddie tells Cody that ghosts don't exist, with London claiming that the ghost was real, as when she was in the suite a few years ago, she lost her new purse, which according to her, had "just the regular $1000 bill that every kid has for their allowance". After that statement, Maddie, Zack, and Cody all leave the lobby with London following far behind.
While trying to go to the room, they bump into Muriel, who tells them where to go, but not before warning them against going to the room. Zack doesn't heed the warning, and is about to go that path before Cody pulls him back. Muriel ends up on not stopping them and gives them the key to the suite. Muriel gives the group some exposition on the ghost, stating that in 1942, two newlyweds checked into the hotel. The ghost's (Irene's) fiance left her for an Italian babe. In anger, Irene thrust a hairbrush which he had given her into a mirror, resulting in the mirror shattering into thousands of pieces which caused her untimely death.
After the exposition ends, the group gets scared by Arwin, the janitor, who was wearing a welding mask for no reason. When they reach Suite 613, Zack attempts to open the door using the key they were given, but it fails. However, as Cody is about to leave, the door opens. The group explores the room until the door suddenly closes, trapping them here. Maddie finds the purse, giving it to London, but it is empty. The door slams open as Mr. Moseby enters the room. Moseby warns the group about the ghost, but Zack wants to know why. Moseby then recounts his experience with the ghost, causing everyone to scream.
We then see Zack and Cody exiting the elevator. Zack bets Cody five dollars if one of them flees Suite 613. When Zack asks his mom (Carey) if he with his brother could camp the night in the haunted suite. Initially telling him no, after Zack re-assures her that London and Maddie would be watching over them, she agrees. It then transitions into night, with Zack, Cody, London, and Maddie inside the room, with Esteban being there as well as he was bringing London's "overnight" bag. They then get spooked by Arwin as he was also looking for the ghost. After doing a seance, Irene (the ghost) possesses Esteban and gradually gets rid of everyone, except Zack. Zack tries to leave the room, but is terrified, only leaving the room for a moment. However, the rest of the group re-appear, revealing to Zack that it was an elaborate hoax as revenge for all of Zack's impractical jokes. In an end-scene, Zack and Cody re-enter the room to retrieve Cody's blanket but see that one of the ghosts which scared Zack was real.

- The So-Called Coward: Zack. After taunting his twin Cody for being scared to go to the room, the next night, Zack himself gets terrified and flees the room due to the prank that Cody done for revenge.
- Your Costume Needs Work: After pranking his brother Zack, he and Zack re-enter Suite 613 to retrieve Cody's blanket. However, they are both shocked as they see the tenant (who was supposedly fake) give them the blanket before entering her portrait.
