• Descended Creator: Artemus is voiced by one of the series' developers.
• Fan Nickname: When discussing the installments of the series, they are usually referred to by acronyms of their secondary titles - i.e. "TDP", "TMA", "TDS".
• Hey, It's That Voice!: Viktoria is SHODAN from System Shock 2. Garrett is XERXES and Captain William Diego, also from System Shock 2. And Harold the mutated tree guy from Fallout 3 (with Benny the Guard's signature accent).
  • And in case you're wondering, they're voiced by Terri Brosius and Stephen Russell, respectively.
• The Other Darrin:
  • Larkspur has a different voice actor in The Metal Age and Deadly Shadows.
  • First Keeper Orland is voiced by different voice actors in the second and third game.
  • Interpreter Caduca is voiced by different voice actors in the second and third game.
  • Translator Gamall is voiced by different voice actors in the second and third game.
  • Undergo a complete change in appearance and armaments in The Metal Age, to the point that you could very well consider the idea that there are two distinct species of apebeasts. If anything, TMA's apebeasts live up to their name a bit more accurately, looking like actual apes.
• Talking to Himself: You'd never know it from just playing, but Garrett and Karras are voiced by the same guy. This happens a lot for many other characters, too.
