  • Non Sequitur Scene: One of the mouse family is rescued by a dog, who then suddenly starts rapping for no apparent reason. Perhaps the most inexplicable scene in a film full of them, it's never mentioned again afterward, except when the chihuahua mentions being hit with a "food item."
    • It's slightly less of this in the uncut version, in which the dog introduces himself as the one in charge of the animals and gently scolds the mouse before rapping. The rap itself is also slightly different, and basically is the dog telling the other animals that they're having a party, so they need to steal food. Still, no one brings up the fact that it was a rap out of nowhere. In 1912.
  • Cliché Storm: Is it ever.
  • Crowning Moment of Funny: at one point, it sounds like the evil lady who is in control of the theives says:

"It's a losing battle, trying to teach you to work properly. One needs to be gentle, agile.... ELEPHANTS!!!"

  • Designated Villain: Gaston. He's a bit slimy and dumb, yes. But there's the fact that he's treated like a jewel thief when the worst he did was pick Angelica's locket up off of the ground and give it to a girl he was wooing. He never actually stole the damned thing. Then again, the fact he didn't take the necklace to the Lost and Found section might make some people consider him just as bad as a thief.
    • Also, Tiger. He's treated like a villain for being Corynthia's pet and "looking like a bat."
  • Ear Worm: "PARTY TIME! PARTY TIME! Everybody's feeling fine cause it's party time!"
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Saturday Night Live 's TV Funhouse segment had their own wacky animated version of Titanic which of course is also a musical and rather Disney-like. The only difference being that the ship was sentient as was the iceberg that sank it. Oh and they both get into a swordfight too... yeah.
  • Historical Villain Upgrade: The first officer is portrayed as a snide Jerkass who, among other things, shoves another crew member out of the way to get a spot on the lifeboats. The real first officer went down with the ship after helping evacuate about three quarters of the survivors, and is generally regarded as a hero.
    • The first officer is vaguely a Jerk with a Heart of Gold (or at least the movie makers seemed to intend for that) in an earlier scene, when Molly thinks that Angelica stole her locket (in reality, Gaston found it and gave it to Molly, without knowing who the real owner was) and the officer implies to her that the necklace was Angelica's to begin with. After that though...
    • Generally regarded as a hero, unless you're James Cameron.
  • Ho Yay: Both of the Dalmatians are modeled after Pongo, the male dog from 101 Dalmatians. That combined with both of them sounding rather masculine makes one wonder if maybe the puppies seen in the ending were just adopted.
    • The female one is named Kate, so yeah.
      • Only in the uncut version does it specify the red one is female.
  • Memetic Mutation: IT'S PARTY TIME.
    • "If it hadn't been for you I would be now in someone else's digestion!"
  • Narm
  • Painful Rhyme: "If you're feeling bluesto, there's something that you can do-sto. Dust off your dancing shoesto, and fiesta with Mucho Gusto!"
  • Signature Scene: "Party Time". That is all.
  • Strangled by the Red String: Our hero and heroine exchange three whole sentences before deciding they're meant to be.
  • That Reminds Me of a Song: The aforementioned rapping dog song "Party Time" and the Mexican mice's "Mucho Gusto."
  • They Just Didn't Care
  • This Is Your Premise on Drugs: This is Don Bluth, Walt Disney, and Looney Tunes on cocaine followed by a ton of Pepsi.
  • Unfortunate Implications: The Mexican mice.
