Don't edit in 'All The Tropes:' namespace, final warning

Summary by Arlo James Barnes

slipped up, was given final warning.

Such as you just did with All The Tropes:REDIRECT. That namespace is reserved for the wiki staff alone to change.

If you think something should be created in the "All The Tropes" namespace, suggest it in a forum message or on a Mod's talk page. Don't do it yourself.

Edit: This, by the way, is the second time you have strayed into the project namespace to make your own personal additions to it. Do we need to be more explicit than we were six months ago? Don't do anything there. This is a formal warning, per All The Tropes:How We Do Bans Around Here: If you make any kind of edit in the All The Tropes namespace again, expect to see a temporary ban at the very least. Please acknowledge that you have read and understand this warning in this thread within 48 hours (by 10 PM EST on 7 December 2020) or you will receive an "attention-getter" tempban until you do.

Alright, acknowledged. I'll remember this time (and I am sincere that it was just a failure of memory; so I'll make it a postit on my monitor). Isn't Special:UserRights a tool that could be used here so that only staff can touch that namespace?

Actually, it's a bit more involved that that. But because of your wanderings into the project workspace I've already contacted the other mods about locking it down.

I should note that "I wasn't prevented from doing it" is no more an acceptable excuse than "they didn't lock their doors" is an excuse for burglary.

Arlo James Barnes (talkcontribs)

I agree, which is why I didn't make that argument.
