Let's get what I have onto the wiki in around the end-of-month 503s...

Starting with the lists linked at the start of each city's list, with the scientists, sports stars, and politicians removed.

Now what?

  • Leave the redlinks and count on Wiki Magic to fill in the gaps? C'mon, these are Canadians; almost nobody outside Canada has heard of most of them, and almost nobody in Canada cares.
  • Delete the redlinks? A lot of these people should have pages here, though.

Pulled many redlinks off the lists, left a few on. I think this is a good compromise. And the bluelinks stayed on the lists.

If we need to make pages for cities, see w:Category:Canada in fiction by city for starting lists of works set in Canadian cities.

People from Ottawa

(Yeah, we'll need a page for Ottawa to put this on. Under the Umbrella Tree was set in Ottawa. See w:Category:Ottawa in fiction for more works. OSFS might be able to provide a list of F&SF works set in Ottawa. Ottawa Independent Writers might be able to help with more mainstream works set in Ottawa. GoodReads has a list. This list is ready to go.)

Wikipedia has a larger list of people from Ottawa.

Actors

Authors

Comedians

Musicians

Other Creators

People from Toronto

list is now on the Toronto page

At this point, I had to switch tasks, so... no content below this line, just some headers.

People from Montreal

Wikipedia has a larger list of people from Montreal.

If needed, see also w:Category:Montreal in fiction

People from Vancouver

Wikipedia has a larger list of people from Vancouver.

If needed, see also w:Category:Vancouver in fiction

People from Halifax

(Do we want a page for Halifax? Works set there include Theodore Tugboat, a bunch of works set against the backdrop of the Halifax Explosion, and ... according to DuckDuckGo, nothing else. Wikipedia doesn't have a list.)

Wikipedia has a larger list of people from Halifax.
