Happy anniversary.

You have chosen to celebrate the one-year anniversary of your last warning for copyright infringement with a new instance of copyright infringement. Far too much of your proposed edit to Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog/Characters was text lifted directly from the corresponding page at TV Tropes, or very slightly changed text copied almost word-for-word. I wouldn't think we'd need to say this again, but this is a violation of the law and illegal, and we are not going to put the wiki at legal risk to save you the effort of composing completely original content.

This is your third strike. We regret to inform you that you have earned a permanent ban from the wiki.

I also tried friending u but I was banned for the mistakes I've made.

I apologize for this and if there's a way I can redeem myself for this permanent ban, I'd like to know. From now on I'll just leave that page alone and only edit my sandbox.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

It's too late for that. You had already been given a chance to redeem yourself; you chose otherwise.

Oh, and what was in your sandbox was over 90% a direct copy from the TV Tropes pages for Crash & Bernstein. I've deleted it in order to protect the wiki from a lawsuit.

User added copyrighted text to the wiki, the text was deleted by a mod, the user attempted to re-add the same text, a different mod gave the user a two-week tempban.

@ExploringEditor:

I'm sorry, but I just undid your change to Kindhearted Simpleton/Laconic because the text you inserted for the link back to the main page was copied directly from TV Tropes. This is copyright violation -- TV Tropes and All The Tropes have different Creative Commons licenses, and as a result we cannot legally use TVT content from after July 2012. And it doesn't matter that it was just one sentence -- if it recognizably originates from TV Tropes, it is illegal. Consequently it has been deleted in order to protect the wiki from legal liability.

Because of this, I went back and checked the page you created a couple weeks back, Mr. Imagination/Laconic, against TV Tropes and confirmed that it, too, was copied word-for-word. It has been deleted outright.

We strongly recommend you (re)read our Copyrights page before you consider transplanting any more content from TVT -- in particular this passage:

Finally, please note that there is no amount of meaningful text "too small" to qualify as copyright violation. If it can be identified as originating from TV Tropes, it is a violation. Yes, this means something as small as replacing an image caption with one from TV Tropes counts.

We also recommend that you read the page How We Do Bans Around Here. This isn't a threat -- this is the wiki policy strictly controlling how and when user bans can be applied by an Admin. We want you to be aware that unlike TVT, we do not ban users on whims or because we're cranky -- and that you know what we do ban people for, and what it takes, so you can avoid future problems.

However, I regret to inform you that as a result of these incidents of copyright violation, you are now the recipient of a formal warning per section 2.3 of that page. Should you illegally copy any more copyrighted content into the wiki -- not just from TV Tropes, but anywhere we can confirm its prior origin -- you will be subject to an immediate tempban of at least two weeks' duration.

Please respond in clear sentences in this thread -- a "thank" does not suffice -- to let us know that you understand this warning, why you received it, and that you do not intend to repeat the acts that warranted it.

Thank you.

It goes without saying that sending me a "thank" was a deliberate taunt. We are grateful that you have identified yourself as intending to be a disruptive element and probable vandal. It saves us trouble in the long term.
