The main text is only two sentences, entirely in italics, which barely identify the work, its author, and where it can be found. We like to see a bit more about a work than "there's this story read it here" -- like, what it's about and why it's of interest to tropers. You have only three tropes where we like to see a minimum of five on a new work page. It's missing the tropelist template. And it's missing almost all of the default categories which would have been added by the works page template had you used the ATT Page Creator, and the one and only category you put on it is the deprecated "fanfic" category which we've been working to replace with "Fan Works", "Fan Works of the 20XXs" and "(work name)/Fan Works" for some years now.

This doesn't mean we don't want the page. But we strongly recommend that you read All The Tropes:Works Page Guidelines to get a good idea what we want in a new works page, and we recommend even more strongly that you use the Page Creator to create a new version of it. Just like the Trope Workshop page (as I noted four months ago), the Page Creator will start you off with a skeleton page that contains all the minimum markup already in place, so all you need to concern yourself with is your content.

Please read the guidelines and resubmit your page using both their advice and the Page Creator, and your submission is far more likely to get approved.

Finally, we apologize for taking so long to get back to you. All of the active admins have been bogged down over the past few weeks and the moderation queue has been getting shortchanged as a result.

I'm afraid I had to reject your proposed trope Ruder and Cruder...

... because it wasn't properly created in the Trope Workshop, was missing a lot of the necessary markup, and was using non-standard section headers. Please go to the Trope Workshop page, scroll down below the oversized rules block (my fault, we need to thin that out a bit), and use the page creation prompt there to re-create your candidate. You'll start with a skeleton page with all the required markup (including every supported section header) and instructions in comments.

If you didn't keep a local copy of the trope text, let me know and I can recover it from the moderation queue for you.

Actually, after writing that I reorganized the Trope Workshop page to make the page creation prompt easier to find.

Thank you for registering and editing!

However, your proposed edits to Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Characters/Regulars and Stupid Mario Brothers have been rejected because both contain significant amounts of content copied word-for-word from TV Tropes. This is copyright violation -- TV Tropes and All The Tropes have different Creative Commons licenses, and as a result we cannot legally use TVT content from after July 2012. Unless you were the only person to ever work on the specific passages you copied and can legally grant us a license to use them, they cannot be used here. Consequently, your edits to these two pages have been rejected in moderation.

You are free to rewrite the copied material entirely in your own words and resubmit the edits, but before you do, though, we would recommend that you review the following pages that you may find helpful:

Finally we strongly recommend that you read How We Do Bans Around Here. This isn't a threat -- this is the wiki policy strictly controlling how and when user bans can be applied by an Admin. We want you to be aware that unlike TVT, we do not ban users on whims or because we're cranky -- and that you know what we do ban people for, and what it takes, so you can avoid future problems.

However, by the terms of How We Do Bans Around Here, I must inform you that you are now subject to a formal warning. If you attempt to post copyrighted material here a second time, you will be subject to a two-week temporary ban.

Please post an acknowledgment of this warning in this thread so we know we've reached you. (Failure to respond, by the way, won't relieve you of responsibility for future copyright infringement. On the contrary: you may get permanently banned on your second strike instead of your third if it looks like you're going to ignore us and do what you want. Just sayin'.)

Oh, and we rejected your proposed redirect The Villain Must Be Punished because it pointed at a nonexistent category. We're not entirely sure what you thought you were accomplishing there. When creating redirects, make sure there's something to redirect to.

Smijes08 (talkcontribs)

Okay, so... I recently did the page The Villain Must Be Punished while you sent me that message. It's largely copied and pasted from TV Tropes, so don't bother moderating it; I'll work it out from there.

Sorry, I spent most of my time on TV Tropes, and need to get used to how things work here.

Smijes08 (talkcontribs)

I meant to rework it into a category after looking up Action Girl, before realizing that part of that is because it was an index and the like. I was reworking it into an actual trope before that happened.

But like I said, don't bother moderating it. I need to rework it so it's not a carbon copy of the TV Tropes page.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

Okay, well, we have to get it out of the moderation queue one way or another. And accepting it would put the wiki at legal risk, so it's going to have to be rejected.

Thanks for responding.

Smijes08 (talkcontribs)

Fair enough. Like I said, I'm working on it.

I've been on TV Tropes for so long that I gotta remember this is separate and the like, and I have to put it out in different words.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

Oh, and another thing -- we have our own counterpart to YKTTW, called the Trope Workshop. When proposing a trope, you create it there.

You can reach the Workshop by clicking the link I just inserted there; or going into the menu on the left edge of every page, opening "Troping Utilities", and clicking the second item there; or searching on "YKTTW" or "Trope Workshop" in the search prompt in the upper right corner of the page. Before you resubmit your proposed trope, though, please read the Trope Workshop Guidelines.

Thanks!

Smijes08 (talkcontribs)

Okay, thank you.

If you get another moderation request, I was in the middle of reworking that when you posted. I'll move it there; hang on.
