Wreck-It Ralph/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • And the Fandom Rejoiced: the film, previously known as Joe Jump (Working Title), was canceled... but then it was Uncanceled. Given the ambitious premise of accurately portraying video games in the Disney Animated Canon, that was good news enough, but now comes word that Disney is negotiating rights for game characters cameos - and not lawyer-friendly almost-parodic ones, but actual characters, that is. Well, who will they ever get -- Wily, Pac-Man, Eggman and Bowser, you say?!? Disney, take our money already!
    • Eggman is confirmed!
      • Unfortunately, he will not have a major role in the film, and will remain a background character. It's still pretty cool though.
    • This troper could swear he also saw M. Bison and Zangief in there too. THIS IS DELICIOUS!!
    • This trailer got all the excitement up for this film again. Helps that it was released during E3 and therefore gaining the attention of the gaming community.
      • Especially considering that not only part of the villain self-support group's reunion scene made it into the trailer, but the faithfulness of Bowser's and Eggman's physical portrayals is truly stunning and something to behold. This movie's gonna rock.
  • Complete Monster: King Candy, A.K.A Turbo. The guy's an attention whore who got two games unplugged (Basically the video game equivalent of genocide) just because people weren't paying attention to him. He then went into Sugar Rush, where he attempted to kill the real protagonist Vanellope, and when he failed, simply settled for turning her into an unperson and making her a life a living hell. And that doesn't even begin to go into the shit he pulls after Ralph's arrival in the game, worst of all dooming Sugar Rush and all still inside it to die while he could go take over the arcade using his new viral powers. Yeah, the guy's one sick dude.
  • Designated Villain: Ralph's home was the forest in the game he originates, which was torn down in favor of Niceland Apartments. At least one Youtube comment said:

"I'm not altogether certain Ralph is in the wrong here..."

    • This may be intentional, however. Given that this is a Disney movie, it probably is intentional.
  • Gannon Banned: Zangief's portrayal as a villain.
  • Fridge Brilliance: Why is Zangief at the villain support group? He's not a bad guy, he's just plays one sometimes.
    • Close examination of the teaser image shows some redundant characters in the backdrop. Reason? Video game characters have EXTRA LIVES.
    • They could also represent generic NPCs.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Everything about what King Candy put Vanellope through. First he has her ostracized for years all because he made her a glitch. Then he manipulates Ralph into betraying her before locking her up in his dungeon. And when all that fails, he tries to murder her by knocking her against a rough race track. Later when the cy-bugs are going to eat Vanellope, he tries to force Ralph to watch.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks: A number of fans' reaction to Dr. Wily being removed and replaced with M. Bison. The filmmakers are also getting flak for not being as faithful to Zangief's previous versions.
