• Author Existence Failure: Writer René Goscinny died in 1977, while Albert Uderzo was drawing the parody of Waterloo battle part of Astérix chez les Belges (Asterix in Belgium). From this point on, the rain starts (and doesn't stop until the end of the album). Uderzo continued the series as both writer and illustrator afterward.
• Bad Export for You: When Optimum released Astérix and the Big Fight on DVD, Brits got the poorly received American dub of instead of the more popular British dub with Brian Blessed.
• Cash Cow Franchise: To the point it has its own theme park in France!
• Hey, It's That Guy!: In the live action movie, Astérix At The Olympic Games. Holy crap, Those Two Guys are Luca and Paolo!
  • The same movie also featured cameos from athletes, such as Tony Parker, Zinedine Zidane, JeanTodt and Michael Schumacher. (Okay, it's a stretch to call Todt an athlete, he only managed a team at the time, but STILL.)
  • Arthur is a Roman centurion now?
• Hey, It's That Voice!: Craig Charles as Astérix and Howard Lew Lewis as Obélix in Astérix Conquers America.
  • Also, Bill Oddie as Astérix, Bernard Bresslaw as Obélix, Tim Brooke-Taylor as Cacofonix, Peter Hawkins (original voice of the Daleks and Cybermen among others) as Getafix, and Brian Blessed as the Roman General Caous in the British dub of Astérix and the Big Fight.
  • And the American dub of Astérix and the Vikings has Paul Giamatti as Astérix, Brad Garrett as Obélix, and Rip Torn as Vitalstatistix.
  • In the Mexican Spanish dub of the animated films:
    • Astérix is Kozo Fuyutsuki
    • Obelix was Chief Wiggum
    • Panoramix is Mr. Burns
    • The Caesar is Faust
• No Export for You: Astérix and the Vikings was never released in the US, despite the English version being dubbed in the US with well-known actors.
  • There is also an Asterix album that has yet to see the light of day in English-speaking countries; Asterix et se Amis. It's also the only post-'77 album not to be written or drawn by Uderzo; it was actually created by many other European writers and artists (except for Stuart Immonen, who's Canadian) as an 80th birthday present for Uderzo. It also has more than a few cameos from other comic book characters, which is probably why it hasn't been translated; nobody wants to deal with the headache of pleasing the various licenses.
• Typecasting: Roger Carel has voiced Astérix and Dogmatix in all the animated films.
