 Evan: I lika...do...the cha cha.

    • Gangbangers + Literal Butt Monkey = Squick and funny.
    • Bruce's on-air meltdown upon learning that he's been passed up for the vacant anchor job. Highlights include:

Bruce: I'm here with Katherine Hepburn's mom. Tell me, why did you throw the blue Heart Of The Ocean jewel over the railing of the Titanic? Did you feel bad at all letting Leo Dicaprio drown while you were safe floating on the big door? Could you have taken turns, or were you just too afraid to freeze your big, fat ASS off?!

Bruce: Erroooding! Errroooooding! ERRRROOOOOODIIIIIING!!

Bruce: This is Bruce Nolan, eye witness news, back to you, fuckers!

    • Bruce getting a laugh out of God.

"I should know. I created you."

"... Quit braggin'."

  • Heartwarming Moments: Bruce's I Want My Beloved to Be Happy prayer to God in Heaven.
  • Memetic Mutation: B-E-A-utiful. To a lesser extent, the "It's good" repetition.
  • Moment of Awesome: God playing the "How Many Fingers am I holding up?" game with Bruce and grossing the hell out of him.
  • Role Association: Ever since this movie, Morgan Freeman has basically become God as far as this trope is concerned.
  • Sein Language: "B-E-A-utiful!..."
  • Sequelitis: Spinoff-itis?
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Bruce may just be the most unimaginative mortal ever imbued with God's powers (which would include omnipotence, omniscience, standing outside of spacetime, and more), using it only for the most mundane things. This was probably done deliberately to keep the story grounded on a human level, as pointed out on the main page.
    • This assumes the plot was actually "A mortal man becomes God with all that implies". The plot is actually "A normal guy gets the power to do just about anything", and given this power most people probably would run around messing up the people that had screwed with them and giving themselves an awesome car and so on.
  • Unfortunate Implications: God, depicted as a black man wearing a snow-white three-piece, granting a mortal white nobody Phenominal Cosmic Powers for a week raised an eyebrow on Cracked.com.
    • Bruce uses his newfound powers to lift the skirt of an attractive woman; she screams and is obviously mortified while he leers at her. It's Played for Laughs.
  • The Woobie: Grace, Jennifer Aniston's character.
