Tropes used in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes include:
  • Bare Your Midriff: Lian and Garr, the latter being a rare male example.
  • Cute Kitten: The abundance of cats is a marketing point, and a golden one is available as DLC exclusively to backers. There was even a reward to let backers insert their own cats into the game, but that sold out within the first hour or so.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: The gimmick behind a newly announced 109th hero, whose face shall be voted on by backers when the campaign reaches $3.125 million.
  • Loads and Loads of Characters: The party alone, as per the subtitle and certain tradition from Suikoden. In addition to the default hundred, there could be as many as eight more, with five of those having already met their stretch goals.
  • Shark Man: Yuferius VII, one of the stretch goal heroes.
  • Shout-Out: Mellore's is described to want to become a mage, which she assumes to be a Magical Girl like the ones her father reads about. Her stretch goal was titled The Pretty Soldier.
  • Spiritual Successor: To Suikoden
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Specified for each character already revealed in the campaign and updates.
