    • The line itself is very odd but a later line makes it worse.

    • The song is a cover of that sung by a male band. So the pie would be--oh no.
  • Awesome Music: "You've Got The Love" (even if it's Covered Up), "No Light, No Light", "What The Water Gave Me", "Drumming Song", "Shake it Out", "Cosmic Love", and of course, "Dog Days Are Over". And that's not half of it.
    • The covers of "Jackson" and "Try a Little Tenderness" on her MTV Live Unplugged album.
    • DRUMMING. SONG. UNPLUGGED. Especially the oh oh ohs at the end.
    • "Breath of Life" is pure awesome, with Florence backed by a powerful orchestra and choir. Even if it is a song for ANOTHER Kristen Stewart movie.
  • Crowning Moment of Heartwarming: "Only If For a Night" is based on a dream Florence had in which she was visited by the ghost of her grandmother. Keep that in mind, and listen closely to the lyrics; one gets a good idea of just how close they were. It makes for unlikely Sweet Dreams Fuel.
  • Covered Up: Other than "You've Got The Love" there is also "Girl With One Eye" originally by Ludes.
  • Ear Worm: If nothing else "Dog Days Are Over" because of it's constant use in media when everything is going good.
    • "Seven Devils", "Heartlines", "Spectrum", "Leave My Body""No Light, No Light", "What The Water Gave me", "Lover To Lover", "My Boy Builds Coffins".
  • Epic Riff: "Seven Devils" piano riff is irresistible.
  • Mood Dissonance: For example, take this portion from "Spectrum".

 We'll drag bodies from our graves

Yes, that's right, the song may or may not be about vampires. Or maybe zombies. Or just plain monsters.
  • Narm: The song "Between Two Lungs" contains the spectacularly narmy line

And my running feet could fly
 Each breath screaming: "We are all too young to die!"

  • Nightmare Fuel: You will get nightmares from her music videos.
    • "Blinding" is a song with a pleasant scream at the start of it. A weird animal squeak and people laughing. Unnerving to say the least.
    • The syncopation in the piano in "Seven Devils" sounds like somebody playing bones, probably on purpose.
    • "What The Water Gave Me" has a creepily sparse production and, you know, the suicide thing.
    • "Kiss With A Fist"- just read the lyrics!
    • "Drumming Song" as noted before for it's sounding and actions indicating insanity and or suicide.
    • "Remain Nameless" is particularly creepy.
    • "Never Let Me Go" is a typical Florence song, complete with its topic of drowning. However, the music video shows Florence melting into a sea monster in the end, with a warped screen, foam forming around her, black ink spewing down her chin, and her going from apathy to agony. It borders on Tear Jerker.
    • Basically, listen to the lyrics, be disturbed.
  • One of Us: Inspiration for the new album came from science, chemistry and Florence's family mostly consisting of doctors.
    • One of the songs she's already sung (at live events) shows this pretty well. It's called "Strangeness and Charm", as in the 'flavours' of quarks.
  • Tear Jerker: "Hardest of Hearts", especially if you witness or felt this feeling.
    • "Breaking Down (Acoustic)", "Never Let Me Go", "I'm Not Calling You A Liar", "Blinding", "Falling", "Swimming", "Howl", "Ghosts (Demo)", "Heavy In Your Arms", "Landscape (Demo)" and "Breaking Down".
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks / It's the Same, Now It Sucks : Some listeners are confused with the direction they take on their second album, Either it's too similar to selected tracks on their first record, or lack the variety of their first album and therefore sucks.
  • Unfortunate Implications: It may take you a while to realise "Kiss With a Fist" is not literal. The British press covered this in some detail at the time. It's about a passionate relationship, not a violent relationship. (Check out the other wiki's page on the song)
    • And then after you realize it's not about domestic abuse the song just becomes downright hilarious.
    • There have been statements among the viewing public of the "No Light, No Light" video that it has a racist under-tone, as the video has a man in Blackface performing an aggressively sensual dance and stabbing a voodoo doll, and someone else in blackface chasing her through a city. She's saved by white choirboys and a white lover. Defenders say that the people in blackface are meant to be demons, which raises even more unfortunate implications. Officially, it represents her own darkness and despair.
