Kara (often stylized as KARA - Korean: 카라, Japanese: カラ) is a popular girl group in Korea & Japan with five members.

Originally formed in 2007 with four members, they went through a member change in early 2008, when one member had to quit and two new members joined.

They first gained nationwide acclaim through their single Pretty Girl.

Not to be confused with the tech demo by Quantic Dream.

Acquired Situational Narcissism: Gyuri's mother says her daughter isn't as outspoken about her beauty as she acts on television.
Aerith and Bob: Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole, Hara, Jiyoung.
- Justified. Nicole was born and raised in California.
Darker and Edgier: Their single Lupin.
Disproportionate Retribution: The video for Wanna. Their 'prank' results in the undeserving victim getting his room ransacked and then a broken leg.
Erotic Eating: Pretty mild, but the main part of their dance for Honey involved mimicking the action of wiping honey off of their mouths.
Girl Group: One of the most popular Korean examples.
Fan Nickname: Gyuri is called "the Goddess" for her flawless natural beauty.
Lighter and Softer: Their comeback after Sunghee left and Hara and Jiyoung joined. They started going back to a Darker and Edgier style eventually.
- Continued with their song Winter Magic.
Male Gaze: Their "butt dance" for Mister was pretty much made for this.
- Then when Kara started to promote in Japan, the Korean fanbase called out the Japanese fanbase for focusing too much on the girls' behinds.
Shout-Out: The concept of their song Lupin is Arsène Lupin.
Surprisingly Good English: Nicole was raised in the United States; more specifically, Glendale, California
