- Executive Meddling: There were fights between the writers, the execs, and the fans as to whether Lois and Clark would tie the knot in the show. The results were not pretty.
- Also a good example of Pandering to The Base by the fourth season. The fandom, specifically one corner of it, had far too much influence on the show, resulting in the ridiculousness of villain after villain wanting to break them up. You know, instead of actual cases and stories.

- Jimmy Olsen is constantly being stalked by death. ..Not unlike being on this show, come to think of it.
- As for the other Jimmy Olsen, he once saved the world from Jeremy Irons' eyebrows.
- After leaving the Daily Planet, Cat Grant parlayed her years of gossip column experience into commanding a space station.
- Inspector Henderson is initially played by Brent Jennings, better-known as Jive Turkey vampire Mr. Trick (Jennings reprises the role of Henderson in Superman: The Animated Series).
- Ching (that is, the first one) ended up marrying an Earth woman named Brenda.
- Det. Calleigh moonlights as Lana Lang for an episode.
- On that note: Hey, Warrick, nice dreadlocks!
- In Season 2's Christmas Episode, Jimmy Olsen's girl of the week is (fittingly) Dr. Christmas Jones.
- And he follows it up with dating Blood Rayne. Seriously, what is it with Jimmy and these women?
- Raymond's brother Robert used to be an unfunny clergyman named "Reverend Bob".
- Took the Bad Film Seriously: You wouldn't know it just from watching him, but John Shea took Lex Luthor very seriously. He even studied Nietzsche.
- What Could Have Been: An earlier script for "Seconds" had Mindy Church team up with Lex to try and kill Superman, and being punished for her crimes.
