Michael Rosen is a British children's author and poet, known for his work on YouTube where he tells his stories complete with strange facial expressions. He is most famous for his "Going on a Bear Hunt" song, and he is a popular target for YouTube Poop. His material can be found at the channel "artificedesign".

Michael Rosen provides examples of the following tropes:
  • Actually Pretty Funny: Rosen initially took umbrage at the parodies made from his poetic performances on YouTube, but has since softened his stance and eventually came to enjoy at least some of it. Commenting on the phenomenon, he tweeted: "Some are very funny and innocent, some are obscene, some are defamatory, some are racist, some are anti-Semitic."[1] While Rosen said he was "fond of the funny ones", he said that he has "tried to get the racist, antisemitic ones taken down". Overall, he doesn't mind his works getting appropriated for comedy, for as long as it isn't seen by children or made into yet another bitter canard at the expense of Jewish people or those of other ethnicities.
  • Bears are Bad News: We're Going on a Bear Hunt.
  • Cool Old Guy: He's both a successful children's poet and an internet sensation.
  • Ear Worm: "We're going on a bear hunt, we're going to catch a big one"
  • Large Ham: He ticks all the boxes with his ridiculous facial expressions.
  • Nice Guy: He's known for being well-spoken, kind-hearted and a friendly old chap overall, gaining the immense respect of even the YouTube Poop community who would otherwise parody his children's poems.
  • Precision F-Strike: Perhaps one of the few times he swore was in "Orange Juice", though in an interview with YouTuber LitUp666 he was quite frank with his statements to the point that the profanities he uttered in that interview could very well be poop material.
  • Slasher Smile: A rather famous one, present in nearly all his videos.
  • Unacceptable Targets: While Michael doesn't mind him being the subject of YTPs, most poopers have made it a point not to parody the video about his son's death[2] as it crosses Dude, Not Funny territory and many of his fans from the YTP community have actually held him in high regard due to him being an overall nice guy and for his social activism.
  • YouTube Poop: His videos are a staple of these, with poopers manipulating videos of his poems for comedic and sometimes shocking effect.
