- Easter Egg: Sometimes after getting the "skull" item (which explodes all on-screen enemies to bits), Steven can be heard saying Toasty! in a high-pitched voice.
- Hey, It's That Guy!: The actress who plays Helga is Kerri Hoskins, who would later go on to play Sonya in Mortal Kombat 3 and all its upgrades. She also played all of the hostages in this game.
