General Fics

Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance.

Back to Black by teaselmeringue

  • Recommended by Pueblocutter
  • Synopsis: Kyle's a drunk, and he and Cartman are actually friends. Stan has something to do with why Kyle turned out the way he did.
  • Comments: This one-shot is full of layers and detail and its really great because it focuses on the unlikely friendship between Cartman and Kyle. The author subverts every possible cliche found in other fanfics starring these two. Not for the faint of heart, it is a bit depressing but the sequel It's been a long time is great payback. A worthwhile read for any Cartman/Kyle fan who wants to read a great story about them being friends. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Lightning by silvyrwing

  • Recommended by Mystic One
  • Synopsis: Kenny is struck by lightning while standing too close to Stan. They both should have died, but because of Kenny's... gift... they switched bodies instead. Naturally, they decide that the very best and most logical way to switch themselves back is to go pay a visit to the Dark God Cthulhu.

How Cartman Stole Christmas by Cszemis

Five Plus One by moonlitelm

  • Recommended by: Metal Gear Chick
  • Sypnosis: Five times that Butters was there to help out others, and one time in which he was helped out by someone.
  • Comments: A very touching and heartwarming fanfic, and very in-character. Butters being there for everyone, and Cartman being there for Butters in the end, will make you cry tears of joy. It's a very sweet story, and should not be missed.

Isolated Incident by Mariani

  • Recommended by: Metal Gear Chick
  • Sypnosis: Kyle has been pushed over the edge from being bullied in middle school, is still suffering from it, and has been driven to suicide. Very dark fanfic, and deep too.
  • Comments: Such a deep and sad story. Anyone who has been endlessly bullied in the past can easily relate to it. Wanting to get revenge on the people who bullied them, having suicidal thoughts, etc. A must-read.

Liebe Und Krankheit by "SekritOMG"

  • Recommended by: lizoftheinfinite
  • "Pairings": Kenny/Clyde, Stan/Kyle
  • "Synopsis": Clyde is affable and insecure; Kenny never even considered trading him sex for free shoes.
  • "Comments": One of the most beautifully written South Park fanfics I've ever read, with ridiculously realistic relationships and possible deconstruction of the slash genre.

A Lack of Color by mr. eames (Very mild slash)

  • Recommended by: That Stalker Chick
  • Pairing(s): Stan/Kyle (although could be interperated as non-romantic)
  • Synopsis: "I'm going to kill myself." Stan went to the roof of his apartment building, one determined thought in his mind, and then the redheaded stranger ruined everything. Or maybe he was Stan's savoir. "That's tragic, we've only just met."

The New Year by mr. eames (starting to see a pattern?) (Warnings: Mild slash, language, mentions of suicide, gore and character death)

  • Recommended by: I Stomp On Your Cellphone
  • Pairings: Stan/Kyle (naturally), Craig/Tweek, Christophe/Kyle, and other more vague pairings.
  • Synopsis: Stan knows that he's normal. In fact, he's sure that he's normal. So what if the Voice in his head is a little more demanding than should be normal? That doesn't mean he's any more crazy than anyone else, right? And that sure as hell doesn't mean that he belongs in Mountain Crest, surrounded by OCD manics, delusional psychopaths, and bipolar redheaded roomates. Maybe he shouldn't have spent New Years Eve trying to kill himself.

"Daddy" by Cynical B. Itch

  • Recommended By: lizoftheinfinite
  • "Pairings" Craig/Tweek
  • "Sypnosis": In which poor Tweek has a sucky life. Oneshot.

  • Pairings: Cartman/Wendy, Kenny/Bebe, Stan/Kyle
  • Synopsis: In a class where there aren't too many expectations, students are about to get far more than they bargained for. Bet your school never taught you this.
  • Comments: A deconstruction and reconstruction of what exactly "Style" is and why it's so special. Adult Kenny teaches a sixth grade sex-ed class about more than sex, but about friendship, relationships, and soulmates. Unfortunately, it seems to have been abandoned, but its inconclusive ending still closes on a happy note.

Blindfold by Homicide-Inside

  • Recommended by: Lemonfreak92
  • Pairings: Craig/Tweek
  • Synopsis: There are a lot of things Craig hates, but none could compare to his hatred towards Tweek. He bullies him everyday and can't wait to have him gone for good.
