  • The final Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann mission. We give you the highlights:
    • First, the speech upon the formation of Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann:

Shinji: "No matter how many times you knock us down..."

Asuka: "No matter how you try to lock us away..."

Shiro: "No matter how you try to shatter our will..."

Coop: "We'll always bounce back ten times harder!"

Julius: "No matter how small we may seem!"

Fate: "No matter what may happen to us..."

Dingo: "We will keep on fighting until the end!"

Chanda: "Because we're heroes and a real hero never gives up!"

Katina: "Even if the whole universe stands in our way..."

Viral: "The seething of our blood will determine what will be!"

Nia: "We will always believe in humanity and will face the future!"

Simon: "Because that's who we are -- we're the GALAXY DEFENSE FORCE!"

Simon: "TENGEN TOPPA GURREN-LAGANN!"
EVERYONE: "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE?!"

    • Fate conjures both of her device's forms at once and uses them on the Anti-Spiral at the same time.
    • Dingo mounts a Vector Cannon on Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann...then fires it. Without charge time.
    • Katina punches Grand Zamboa in the face with THREE THOUSAND DRILL-SHAPED PLASMA STAKES.
    • Ryouma Nagare—who had left the GDF to fight the Getter Emperor for all time -- makes an entrance piloting the TENGEN TOPPA GETTER EMPEROR.
    • Anti-Spiral attacks Ryouma. Ryouma's response? "OPEN GET!" Cue Katina charging through the space Ryouma occupied in her Tengen Toppa Gespenst, hitting the Anti-Spiral with all four limbs individually IN AN INSTANT, then BODY CHECKING the Grand Zamboa.
    • Dingo, in Tengen Toppa Jehuty, makes 29 decoys. Then each decoy splits into 30 more decoys.
    • Tengen Toppa Bardiche, wielded by Fate, slices through 30 tendrils in a matter of seconds.
    • Julius, in a ridiculously tiny mech, spawns massive drill-shaped grappling hooks which wrap around the Grand Zamboa and try to CRUSH IT.
    • Coop spawns a DOZEN Wave Motion Guns and then fires them POINT BLANK.
    • Shiro and his Super-Powered Evil Side, now in a body of his own, lead a team of faceless mooks in Macross Missile Massacre, Beam Spam, and A GROUP DROP KICK.
    • Shinji and Asuka, in a combined Tengen Toppa Evangelion, homage another Gainax series with a giant Inazuma Kick.
    • Team attack time! Julius catches the Anti-Spiral in an infinite loop of falling through a portal and smashing into itself, Shiro and Kuro launch the attacks that made Ryu and Ken famous, and Dingo warps behind the Grand Zamboa and drills it in the back.
    • The Grand Zamboa then has to weather Nia's drill lance, Fate's device with an INFINITE NUMBER OF PRONGS, and Chanda's maces.
    • Ryouma unleashes Stoner Sunshine as a distraction, while Katina and Viral go for a team attack, while Coop smashes Grand Zamboa with a bat.
    • The Anti-Spiral cuts Tengen Toppa Evangelion in half...only for the halves to form Tengen Toppa Eva-01 and Tengen Toppa Eva-02. Does that ability ring a bell?
    • Asuka then takes the Lance of Longinus and emulates another famous Lancer and lands her attack before she even launches it, complete with a Techno Babble explanation. Lampshaded by Asuka's mother:

Kyoko: "So much for the laws of physics."

    • This is followed by Shinji loading Tengen Toppa Lagann into a positron rifle—powered by several galaxies—and firing it at Grand Zamboa.
    • But then Grand Zamboa swallows Tengen Toppa Lagann. Cue Simon DRILLING HIS WAY OUT OF ITS STOMACH.
    • Even Lord Genome got to be even more awesome. He first met Infinity Big Bang Storm with his own Giga Drill, and when it got destroyed, he charged forward and FALCON PUNCHED GRAND ZAMBOA IN THE FACE before he was consumed by the blast.
    • Then there's the speeches after Super Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann is formed:

Shinji: "Humans are weak! We lose, we suffer, we fall down! But that's how we learn to get back up again and again! A BASTARD LIKE YOU WHO'S NEVER KNOWN DEFEAT COULDN'T POSSIBLY UNDERSTAND WHERE OUR STRENGTH COMES FROM!"
Asuka: "WE'LL NEVER GIVE UP ON LIFE, OR MOVING FORWARD!"
Shiro: "Sure we all have our fears somewhere down the path of life! BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD RUN AWAY FROM IT!"
Kuro: "THE POWER TO FACE YOUR FEARS..."
Shiro and Kuro: "THAT'S THE TRUE FORM OF COURAGE!"
Ryouma: "Only someone truly pathetic couldn't understand something as simple as that! NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, IT'S THE PURPOSE OF LIFE TO FACE IT HEAD ON AND WIN!"
Nia: "Every one of us has something to share! Together, we can do what one alone cannot!"
Julius: "You still just don't understand? Whatever you do, whatever you say, we can keep going. It's what we do."
Katina: "There are MILLIONS of us humans who get that, you IDIOT!"
Coop: "Chumps like you just wanna hang around and control everything! Well, I got news for ya! There's always a bigger fish! And we're it! Now take your beating like a good disembodied singular existance, you wannabe POSER!"
Fate: "I can feel the strength and love of all the people I care about flowing through me... someone like you, incapable of feeling that, couldn't possibly prevail over us."
Shinji: "Simon! Our power is all yours! Hurry up and end this once and for all!"
Ryouma: "For the sake of facing tomorrow!"

    • And after that, everything plays out the same way as it does in the movie. In short, this mission was INCREDIBLY epic.
