"Red Baron": non-intuitive or misleading?

I would expect "Red Baron" to be about the Ace Pilot who had that epithet, not about epithets in general. Shall we rename the page?

We don't currently have a page called "epithet", and that name has the advantage of having a Wikipedia page about the same topic as this page.

To answer the subject question: yes. To answer Rob's query: yes. This page title should be on a bio of Manfred von Richthofen. "Epithet" is a bit blah but it will serve.

TBeholder (talkcontribs)

Using "epithet" like this would be emphatically schizoid - though of course this in itself would increase compatibility with wikipedia. ;)

As it is now, it's a vaguely defined niche between Nom De Guerre and The Dreaded.

I'm actually having a hard time trying to distinguish the three. Should Red Baron be changed to Epitaph and that be the category name for all the tropes below it?

Labster (talkcontribs)

First off, Nom De Guerre should be renamed to Nom-de-Guerre. I must have missed that one on import -- probably because 'de' is an article in Romance languages but can be a verb (出) (or particle) in Japanese.

Secondly, "epitaph" is a different thing @LK lol.

I guess that:

Something needs straightened out here, but I don't know what.

EDIT: Something that I know needs straightened out is Category:Naming Conventions, because 260 tropes is too many for a category.

Derivative (talkcontribs)

I meant Epithet. Blame alcohol.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

Since we appear to be in agreement:

* "Nom De Guerre" has been moved to "Nom-de-guerre"

* This page will be moved to "Sobriquet"

* "Red Baron" will become a page about Richthofen

EDIT: ...and done - except for fixing over 900 pages that currently link to "Red Baron"
