- Acting for Two: Joe Grifasi plays the dock worker in the first movie and the Oscar director in the third. Also, Richard Griffiths in the second movie; somewhat Justified Trope in that one of the characters he played was actually a professional impersonator, hired specifically to pose as the other one.
- Fake Nationality: In the first movie, Mexican actor Ricardo Montalban plays an obviously Germanic villain (Vincent Ludwig).
- Hey, It's That Guy!: The sleazy trucker who tried to pick up Jane in the third movie was played by Marc Alaimo, who played the sleazy Magnificent Bastard, Gul Dukat, in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
- And Nordberg is played by that guy who may or may not have killed his wife.
- Doctor Meinheimer is Vernon Dursley.
- The third film involves Frank and Jane meeting a marriage therapist, who used to counsel Sarah Connor.
- I Knew It!: What Frank says after he puts Mikhail Gorbachev in a headlock and rubs off his famous "wine stain" birthmark.
- The Other Darrin: Neither Hocken nor Nor(d)berg was played by the same actor as in the series.
