In my defense, I started a discussion first. Though now that I think of it, I suppose the unfortunate implications apply to the EARLY days of the show.

Starting a discussion is irrelevant. The rule is right there on the edit page, black text on a brilliantly yellow background so the only way you can miss it is to deliberately refrain from reading it: DO NOT DELETE YMMV CONTENT. DOING SO WILL GET YOU A TEMPBAN. No qualifiers. No "it's okay if I start a discussion". Do it and you're banned. How hard is that to understand? Especially as I told you explicitly in a message you'd read less than two hours earlier that if you deleted more YMMV content you would be tempbanned. At what point did you get the idea that it wasn't going to happen?

TVGarbage (talkcontribs)

Sorry, it's just that there didn't seem to be any objections.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

I would like you to consider the warning message that says "DON'T DO THIS" to be a pre-existing objection to you doing that, just like a stop sign is a pre-existing objection to the idea of driving out into oncoming traffic. Is that so very hard to understand?

I'm going to repeat the warning I just put in the other thread, because you seem bound and determined to ignore a very simple rule that no one else seems to have any problem understanding:

If you, TVGarbage, delete anything on any YMMV page, you will receive a one-month tempban. And if you delete YMMV content after that, you will receive a permanent ban on the grounds that we cannot trust you to follow any rule.

Do you understand?

TVGarbage (talkcontribs)

OK.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

OK what? Do you understand this warning or don't you?

TVGarbage (talkcontribs)

I understand.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

Thank you.

TVGarbage (talkcontribs)

I will admit that I removed Shane being a CM from the YMMV page because he cares about Lori and Carl...though I don't think Carl wanted him to kill his dad.

You could say he crossed the MEH when he served Otis on a platter to the zombies though. He was probably juicy, but still!

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

You could say any number of things, yes - it's your opinion, just like what you took off the page (and was restored) is somebody else's opinion. You look like you're trying to justify your actions. We already have a page about Justifying Edits.

But, hey, maybe we're wrong. If you want to this rule to be changed, propose a rule change on the Forum once your tempban is finished.

TVGarbage (talkcontribs)

I got blocked because I forgot to leave an edit summary when making an edit on the YMMV page...it was about a character that didn't fit the guideliens for the trope. Though he was corrupted by a character that met the guidelines.

TVGarbage (talkcontribs)

Well, we might want to make a few small edits to the YMMV page entries once in a while.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

I have generally ignored your small deletions particularly because you justified them adequately and because I'm personally in favor of removing a lot of the Complete Monster content. However, we cannot ignore a 2Kb deletion from a YMMV with no explanation. Per the warning we gave you a month or so ago, we're going to have to impose a one-month tempban. I'm really sorry about that -- after you appeared to improve we promoted you to autopatrolled, and I was about to end my look-ins on your edits because it looked like you'd really gotten the idea and had become a good contributor.

TVGarbage (talkcontribs)

A 2KB deletion from a YMMV page? I don't recall that.

TVGarbage (talkcontribs)

Oh wait. Sorry, it's just that I felt that the Complete Monster entry was too big. And Professor Pericles isn't a CM...he's only evil because the Evil Entity made him out to be that way.
