CMFRT_SYSTMS is a Sketch Comedy web series written by and staring members of the New York-based comedy collective Headshot, LLC.. Most episodes are directed and edited by the group's founder Jay Karales, better known by his pseudonym LowRes Wünderbred.
The sketches in CMFRT_SYSTMS range from parodies of popular movies like Joker and The Blair Witch Project to mockumentaries about eccentric subjects to fake "how-to" videos that give dubious advice on topics like picking up women and responding to negative comments on YouTube. The tone of the show is very dry and dark, with members of Headshot, LLC. frequently playing exaggerated versions of themselves in a way that blurs the line between how much of what they're saying is a joke and how much of it is sincere. The struggle that comes with trying to make a living as an artist is a recurring theme in the show, with many skits being about how difficult it is to make a name for yourself without sacrificing your artistic integrity. Other recurring subjects include modern dating, internet culture and dealing with loneliness.
CMFRT_SYSTMS initially lasted for a single season in 2019, which the episodes being uploaded to the LowRes Wünderbred YouTube channel. The pilot episode, "ISOLATION", was released on April 21; the finale, "ONE FOR THE ROAD", was released on Christmas Day. The show was briefly brought back in the summer of 2020 under the name CMFRT_SYSTMS 4K, but the revival was quicky put on hiatus so Jay and the rest of Headshot, LLC. could focus on other creative projects. The show got an proper send-off on Halloween 2021 with the release of 100 Seconds to Midnight, the Grand Finale of CMFRT_SYSTMS.
