Because you have a history of consistent good edits, the moderation staff of All The Tropes has chosen to grant you membership in the autopatrolled group. This gives you several privileges, but the most important one is that your edits will no longer need to be processed through the Moderation queue for approval by an admin, but will now be applied directly to the wiki. This is an awesome responsibility, but we are confident that you can handle it.

...but I just wanted to let you know that per our instruction/policy document All The Tropes:Uploading and Adding an Image to a Page we need (at least) two more things from you or else we'll have to delete the file: Most importantly, we need the license under which we can reuse the image. Did the artist release the image under a Creative Commons license? In that case, we'll need to note that license on the image page. If not, we'll probably need to use Fair Dealing/Fair Use. To add a license to the image page, you simply insert the appropriate template -- as described and found on All The Tropes:List of Image License Templates -- into the image description.

Secondly, we need the URL where you got this image. A couple times in the last ten years we've had catastrophic data losses -- having the source of the image lets us replace it easily if it gets wiped out in a hack or crash.

Please add this information to the image page within the next 48 hours (by 10 AM EDT on 9 August 2023) or we'll be required to delete the image to protect the wiki from legal issues.

We strongly recommend that you read through All The Tropes:Uploading and Adding an Image to a Page so you know what to do the next time, okay?

Thanks.

Another thing that should be done, according to All The Tropes:Uploading and Adding an Image to a Page, is that the image should have a meaningful name. This relates to the catastrophic data losses that @Looney Toons mentioned – with a meaningful name, we can find a replacement image if the URL where you got this image no longer responds and we need to find a replacement.

"99221447 p0" is not a meaningful name, any more than "42" or "23" are. Looking at the image, I would have renamed it to "Without Sin Cover" before uploading it.

This is what I've put in the source of the image:

Summary

Cover art for the fanfiction.net story, Without Sin: All Star Edition. The characters depicted on the cover are either original characters or existing characters of copyrighted work (The Loud House is owned by Nickelodeon) that have been interpreted at an older stage of life by the artist. The image was a commission by the author, Catspeaker, and drawn by the the artist, Lioxdz, and was acquired from the artist's Pixiv page. (https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/99221447) Characters from left to right: Safehouse Lincoln, Lupa, Sinverse Lincoln, and Lemy.

Licensing

This file is in the public domain

Is there a way for me to edit the image name, or do I have to reupload it?

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

That looks great. Let me go approve that change.

As for the page name, we can rename it. Renames are basically page moves, which due to past vandalism (and well-intentioned users who didn't ask) we've restricted to mods alone. Let us know what you want to rename it to and we'll do it.

DeviantRaccoon (talkcontribs)

Please rename the file Without Sin: All Star Edition cover art. Thank you for the quick response.

Your proposed new page "Without Sin: All Star Edition" has been approved in Moderation...

... but just so you know, you created it as a subpage of the page Fanfic, apparently in imitation of TV Tropes' namespacing, which does not work here. I've had to move it out from where you put it. It also needed some usage, markup and style tweaks, which I've also provided, and I've replaced a few redirects with direct links to trope pages. I'll also note that "Real Life Writes The Plot" and "Shout-Out" are Trivia tropes, and should be moved to a Trivia subpage. Oh, and I'm surprised that you don't have Brother-Sister Incest as a trope given the subject matter of the story.

That said, I need to let you know that given the subject matter of the fanfic, we would appreciate it if any future discussion and analysis of the story did not stray into NSFW or needlessly prurient material. It is possible to discuss explicit material without that discussion itself being explicit, and under terms of the UK law we operate under due to the physical location of our servers, we will have to come down hard on any contributions that ignore this request.

In any case, welcome to the wiki, and thank you for your contribution. As one last point, we strongly recommend you read the page How We Do Bans Around Here. This isn't a threat -- this is the wiki policy strictly controlling how and when user bans can be applied by an Admin. We want you to be aware that unlike TVT, we do not ban users on whims or because we're cranky.

Thank you for approving the page, as well as fixing some of the format as well.

I'll try not to dwell too much on the nsfw parts of the story unless relevant, if that's what you mean. If you could elaborate further on what I should avoid, I would greatly appreciate it.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

It's not so much what you shouldn't discuss, it's how not to discuss it. As one of the other mods here has frequently put it in the past, "typing with one hand" is unwelcome. It's one thing to calmly analyze the effects that explicit events and tropes (such as Brother-Sister Incest) have on the course of the plot and why/how they occurred; it's another thing entirely to rave about how much of a turn-on everything is and basically drool on your keyboard. We're about how the story is put together and how it functions, even when that includes elements that are distasteful, perverse or even illegal. We're not about gushing over how the distasteful, perverse or illegal are so terribly cool and appealing. The difference, to use a concrete example, is between analyzing how a murder mystery functions and what its plot elements are, and spouting off about how cool it would be to copy what the murderer did.

Does that make sense?

DeviantRaccoon (talkcontribs)

That makes more sense. Thank you.

You're welcome.
