Consider this an official warning to calm down. As of late, your edits and personal remarks have gotten rather bitter and partisan, to the point of being disruptive, and this is an official notice you need to calm down.

I would like to point out, off this wiki, I'm a devout Christian and hold certain political views which likely do not accord with that of many people here, but this place is not for proselytizing nor is it a place for hurling political accusations without citation and without showing dispassionate objectivity. It is why we discuss adding tropes for contentious topics beforehand, and we agree to a majority consensus tempered by policy. If you disagree, and are overruled, then that is that.

If you cannot moderate your tone, I will have to recommend to my fellow administrators a temporary cool off ban be placed on your account until you can do as asked above. I am very loath to do this, but if my own personal partisanship is forbidden by the rules, then yours is as well.

I respectfully request you take this warning seriously.

Over the last few days, you have been ignoring All The Tropes:There is No One True Way, which is a core policy of All The Tropes. I ask that you read that policy and consider how to apply it to your edits here.

We're going through the old files that we inherited from TV Tropes that don't have their license information and source work listed - we need to add context to the files.

Please don't add to the workload, the way you did when you uploaded File:600full-moe-kare!!-volume-1-cover.jpg without giving license information. (And speaking of that file, could you go back and add the categories and license, please? It's never too late to add context to a file.)

"Source" means the web URL you got the image from.

Edit: Adding the "source work" in an image actually means adding the work's category in the image.

The URL would be good, too.

By "source", I meant where the image came from originally. In the case of File:600full-moe-kare!!-volume-1-cover.jpg, that would be Moe Kare!!.

Oh, adding the source work. I was about to ask "how?" since there's no spot for "source" on the file uploading page.

There isn't a specific place for that information; just list it in the description text.

You can (and should) also add the category for the source work. Which is usually the name of the work, but if you need to make sure, you can just go to the work's page and cut'n'paste from the category list at the bottom.

Reviving this thread... I see that six months after we had this discussion, you added to the workload by uploading File:6142645-2 - Kimi Wa - AllTheTropes.jpg without a license. I'm just seeing this now because of the backlog of work that we have to identify the older images' licenses.

Please don't do that again. We are legally required to have the license information of any image on the wiki. "This file was uploaded by the photographer or author" is not a license - especially when the image is obviously not your own work.

I'm going to have to give you a delayed official warning about this. When you upload a file, you must provide the license information. "This file was uploaded by the photographer or author." is not a license. "This image was downloaded from Wikipedia" is not a license. Failure to provide a license on any further file upload will result in a temporary revocation of your ability to edit the wiki.

To be honest, I didn't realize I didn't put a license. I don't know how that happened. I'm sorry.

I see you've done this yet again, with images of various characters from My Hero Academia. I discovered this during a purge of unused files.

I am deleting the files in question that I am aware of. If you haven't given the license information in nearly two years, it's unrealistic to think that you would give the license information at all.

While you uploaded the files in early-2019 and may have changed your habits since then, these are not the only images that you have uploaded without licenses. Since this is the third time that this has been brought to your attention, I have to give you a formal warning. If you upload another image without specifying the license information, I'll have to give you a temporary block from editing the wiki.

Since this is the end of the calendar year and thus a holiday season in the majority of the English-speaking world, I'll give you the remainder of the calendar year - until January 1, 2021 - to reply to this notice, stating that you understand what we expect and also stating how you intend to act in the future.

I understand I comitted an error. I will not upload images anymore, I think I'm not prepared to do such thing.

... but why are you deleting so much content without explanation from Cuphead? Please note that deleting tropes from a work without explanation is one of the established grounds for a tempban after a warning listed on All The Tropes:How We Do Bans Around Here.

Consider this a formal warning. Please explain why you've deleted what you have, and include explanations in the edit reasons for your future edits to the page, or we will revert all your changes to Cuphead and grace you with a short tempban.

Please reply in this thread to acknowledge receipt of this message. If you don't do so with reasonable promptness -- within a day, given how frequently you edit -- you will receive a non-punitive "attention-getter" tempban to draw your attention here.

I deleted content I saw it was just copied content from TV Tropes and I saw no way of rewriting it. All the tropes that the creator of the page added were, not a joke, copied word by word from the Tv Tropes article. Not one single one was original. That's why I deleted it, because it was just copy. I had no intention of deleting it for the sake of deleting it, I just saw your warning the article could be deleted and I may have acted too quickly without thinking.

Okay, that's fine. Just please note in the edit reasons that you're deleting infringing content.

...when creating a new works page, such as Rinkan Club, please use the ATT Page Creator -- the first item under Troping Utilities in the menu along the left edge of each page. You're leaving out needed markup if you don't -- such as the categories which are necessary to our users finding your page. Also, please use our {{tropelist}} and {{examples}} templates (for works and tropes, respectively) instead of just adding a subhead.

I see that you uploaded "File:66629 - AllTheTropes.jpg" a couple of years ago. I've just changed the name of that file to "File:Next (2007 film).jpg".

In the future, please use meaningful human-readable names on the files that you upload.

When are you moving all of that page's child pages?
