Bible Black: New Testament

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

A 2004 Hentai anime which is a sequel to the adaptation of the visual novel. It has a fully original story unrelated to the game. In japanese, it's called Shin Bible Black(New Bible Black).

Some years after the events of the first anime, couples have been found dead around the same city. The men's bodies are completely carbonized, but the women's bodies remain intact. The deaths are being investigated by both the police and a detective agency known as Tokken. One member of said agency is Imari, the female lead of the first series.

While investigating an object that may be linked to the murders through a victim's father, Imari and fellow Tokken agent Aki Ichikawa are held hostage by a group of masked men which bound Imari and do a human sacrifice ritual to awaken Kitami, whose spirit was lying dormant inside her body.

Produced by Milky Animation Label, Active, and MS Pictures. Animated by Studio Jam. Licensed by Media Blasters to North America.

Tropes used in Bible Black: New Testament include:
  • Back from the Dead: Crowley resurrects her subordinate Yuki after she obtains the information Crowley needs from Yoshitani about the Spear of Longinus.
  • Beethoven Was an Alien Spy: Aleister Crowley was a real sorcerer on this world.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: Kitami and Crowley trying to obtain a new copy of the Bible Black is the main conflict.
  • Break the Cutie: Rika Shiraki is against savagely brutalized here by Kitani and her followers once they get a hold of her.
  • Cleavage Window: All female agents of Tokken have one in their uniforms. And yes, they are all quite buxom.
  • Deflector Shields: The spear of Longinus grants its wielder a magical invisible shield to protect it of any injuries after the wielder is injured the first time.
  • First-Name Basis: In the past, as she and Yamanishi were having sex, Kitami asked Yamanishi to call him by her first name Reika, to further cement their closeness.
  • Fusion Dance: Apparently that was what really happened on the end of the first anime, with Kitani's soul fusing with Imari's body and soul.
  • The Ghost: Kitami mentions Minase to Takashiro as having been "stolen" by her, but no other mentions of his fate are made and, considering Takashiro is a Buddhist nun, is likely their relationship didn't last anyway.
  • Happy Ending Override: Inverted. The previous anime ended with Kitami victorious, having apparently sent the real Imari to hell and having both Saeki and Minase as her lovers. She starts the series dormant on Imari's body, having been apparently being defeated offscreen by Takashiro.
  • Healing Factor: The Spear of Longinus gives Aki a healing factor after she is stabbed by one of Crowley's followers trying to retrieve the artifact from inside her vagina.
  • Hospital Hottie: Eri Harada, the nurse which gets almost immediately love-struck by vice-principal Oshima and has sex with him.
  • Hot Teacher: Both Saeki and Rika have become teachers and didn't lose one bit of their good looks on the time skip.
  • Hot Witch: Crowley and a few of her attractive followers know magic pretty well.
  • Karma Houdini: At the end, Crowley completely gets away with Yoshitani's murder and keeps living like a normal high-school girl. Of course, there is no way to prove to authorities she burned him to a crisp.
  • Kick the Son of a Bitch: In the last episode, Kitami and her followers are brutally raped by Crowley and her own followers. Considering all the abominable acts they made in pursuit of the Bible Black, there is little to mourn.
  • Malevolent Masked Men: The occultist bank robbers, which rape several people, force people to have with each other, and commit a human sacrifice to bring Kitami back.
  • Meganekko: Rika only needed a pair of glasses to fit that archetype in the prequel, as she is quite shy and awkward, and she sports one of these here.
  • Never Found the Body: Crowley apparently died on a plane accident sometime before the series began.
  • No Plans, No Prototype, No Backup: Averted. Turns out there is a way of getting another copy of the titular book, but the process is complicated.
  • Pet the Dog: Kitami and Yamanishi's relationship seems to exist to affirm that Kitami does still have a good side inside her.
  • Playing With Fire: Judy Crowley's primary ability is to set people on fire.
  • Retcon: The ending of the first anime didn't imply at any moment Minase screwing up Kitani's spell would make her soul fuse with Imari, but that was what apparently happened. This doesn't even make sense as Kitani's body cries and tries to reach for Minase, which in a second viewing clearly implies it was Imari desperately trying to tell everyone Kitani's plan has succeeded, and it would have been empty anyway, so how it emoted?
  • Schoolgirl Lesbian: Yuki and Judy Crowley engage on high-school lesbianism.
  • Teacher-Student Romance: Kitami and Yamanishi had a genuine one in the past. When he meets her again in the present in Imari's body, she genuinely still likes him.
