Before people discovered the atomic elements, they hypothesized the existence of other elements that, as they thought, comprised the world around them. There were the classical elements: [[Dishing Out Dirt|Earth]], [[Playing With Fire|Fire]], [[Making a Splash|Water]], [[Blow You Away|Wind]], and often [[Element Number Five|a fifth element]] (not [[What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway?|Heart]]). Sometimes it was [[An Ice Person|Ice]], sometimes it was [[Shock and Awe|Lightning]], sometimes [[Extra Ore Dinary|Metal]], sometimes nothingness ([[Power of the Void|Void]]), sometimes [[Casting a Shadow|Darkness]], or even [[Light'Em Up|Light]], and all will be counted here.

So these are tropes dealing with these old world elements.

Try not to get caught up in them, unless you have a counter element ready.
