  • Fan Nickname:
    • Fuuma Nameicantpronounce was circulating amongst English-speaking fans who had trouble remembering Gesshi Hanafuuma's complex surname (back when the translation was thought to be Fuuma Getsushihana).
        • A translation error has also led to Fuuma being referred to as "Mon Hau".
        • Konami has finally settled on her name being Gesshi Hanafuuma, which is a little easier to handle. The nickname seems to be falling into disuse.
    • Operetta is just Operator in a Japanese accent. Used by English-speaking fans.
    • Pengu is just what some fans call these Penguin robots, but it's stuck.
  • Franchise Killer: Unfortunately, due to poor sales and harsh/middling reception of Otomedius Excellent coupled with Konami's lack of interest in the series, especially in Western territories, it seems very unlikely the Otomedius series will bounce back and try again.
  • Hey, It's That Voice!:
  • No Export for You: For the first game, probably due to its dependence on a special arcade stick with a touchpad. The console-only sequel, Otomedius Excellent, released in North America in November, 2011 following some severe release date jumbling due to Executive Meddling from Microsoft.
  • Sequel First: Otomedius/Otomedius Gorgeous remain Japan-Only, while the sequel Otomedius Excellent is migrating across the pond to America and Europe.
