STARLESS/Characters

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Characters from STARLESS include:

Yukito Sawatari

A normal college guy who looked into a job during the break to get some quick money in order to buy a car and get a girlfriend. Naturally, Yukito fell for the Mamiya's job request and was stuck serving the family for two weeks. When the similarly clueless Yuuna also fell for their trick, it's time for Yukito to decide whether to let her suffer or to find a way to survive this trail together.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:

Yuuna Mitarai

A girl who looked for a part time job to help paying for her younger brother's heart operation. Like Yukito, Yuuna fell into the Mamiya's job request and must worked for two weeks at the estate to ensure his survival. She loves to read and is skilled in french cuisine.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Baby Ever After: With Yukito post Time Skip in the Golden Ending.
  • Big Breasts, Big Deal: Mix of Type 1 and Type 2, since she hates them because they're embarassing.
  • Broken Bird: In all bad endings.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: Becomes this in the anime as the family's depravities are downgraded from horrendously obscene to extremely perverted but still somewhat within acceptable bounds.
  • Healthcare Motivation: She only accepts the job because her brother is seriously ill and she needs the money fast.
  • Gag Boobs: Has one that can even give Mikako a run for her money.
  • Nice Girl: The nicest of the group alongside Mikako.
  • Supreme Chef: Is quite skilled in French cuisine as she helped her parents out at their restaurant.
  • Zettai Ryouiki: In her job interview outfit, grade S.

Sachie Asagiri

A senior housemaid at the manor and the co-worker of Yukito and Yuuna. She is currently working on an extended contract.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Big Damn Hero: Saved Sawatari from Marie's vase trap in the path toward the only Good Ending.
  • Greed: The major reason she willingly go on an extending contract with the Mamiya despite the nature of the job is because she plan to rob their estate.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite her personally, Sachie is the only one who provides the pair of vital information and guideline during their stay at the mansion. Specifically, her help determines whether or not both of them will survive from the Mamiya's clutch.
  • Lazy Bum: She shoves all of her work on Yukito as much as possible.
  • Money, Dear Boy: Her reason for putting up with the Mamiya family is this. In the VN, she eventually decides enough is enough and tries to rob the family with her success (or cancellation of the plan) depending on which ending you get.
  • Playboy Bunny: Her outfit during the party, completes with a pair of glasses, underboobs, and "19 years old" age tag.
  • Older than they look: Appears to be around Yukito's age, but is actually older than 19.

Marie Mamiya

The master of the Mamiya Household, one of the richest and most influental families in Japan. She is the one who hired Yukito for a job at her estate for a far more nefarious purpose than stated.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Affably Evil: Although being an extremely cunning and ruthless, Yukito noted that she's quite charismatic woman.
  • Dirty Kid: Says she began to masturbate as soon she entered elementary school.
  • Evil Redhead: Claret, but fits this trope nonetheless.
  • Hot Mom: Yukito makes several remarks about how Marie is beautiful, charming, and curvaceous.
  • Potty Emergency: Her depravities makes it that she deals with near chronic constipation.
  • Younger Than They Look: While Marie's age is never stated, Yukito noted that she appears younger than a mother of three would usually be.

Marika Mamiya

Marie's smart and elegant elder daughter who is generally polite to everyone and favors Yukito. While generally considered the "nicest" member of her family, she does have her own nasty and cunning moments.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Played with. While her politeness and niceness of allowing Sawatari to take care of her cars appears to be genuine, she is actually quite manipulative if crossed or when getting what she wants.
  • Drives Like Crazy: Caused a racing accident in a competition sponsored by the Mamiya Group which killed many people, resulting in Marie confiscated her driving license and not allowing her to drive any of her favorite sport cars.
  • Futanari: Marika is a true hermaphrodite with all her (as she is referred as female despite her additions) sexual organs functioning properly (though with a slice of Reality Ensues of her having problem regarding ovulation). During the party, it's revealed that she has two friends who are just like her.
  • Lethal Chef: Her idea of cooking is basically dumping all sort of foods she considers "nutritious" on the plate and splashing Aphrodisiac sauce on them.

Marisa Mamiya

Marie's bratty, blonde teenage daughter which is basically defined by her awfulness towards almost everybody and everyone. She forces Sawatari to dress her daily and also tortures him every morning by making him swallow a certain body fluid.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Bratty Teenage Daughter: Marisa is the youngest of the Mamiya sisters and is very unpleasant to Yukito from the start.
  • Rich Bitch: Marisa basically treats Yukito like a slave even before the slavery begins.

Kyouichi Mamiya

Marie's bratty teenage son. Different of Marisa and the rest of the family though, he seems to take little pleasure in torturing people, and mostly concentrates in getting his own at any cost, which may be a problem of its own kind.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • The One Guy: The only known male member of the Mamiya family, considering that nothing is known about the patriarch, if there even is one as all the children have different hair color and facial structures.
  • Spoiled Brat: Well on his way to becoming just as much of a brat as Marisa.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: At least in the anime, he disappears one dinner scene and never returns. Not even for the finale.

Mikako Nonohara

The veteran maid which is the one actually doing all the domestic work before Yuuna was hired. However, she has been the Mamiya's plaything for so long that she has completely accepted living like that.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Baby Ever After: With Yukito (or Makoto) post Time Skip in the "A New Family" Ending .
  • Beauty Mark: One below her right lip.
  • Hot Mom: She is good looking, curvaceous, and has an adolescent son.
  • Parental Incest: Was forced to have (vaginal) sex with her son during one of the endings. It's later reused for the OVA.

Makoto Nonohara

Mikako's son. Very feminine-looking and acting, he nonetheless is also used like a Sex Slave and was corrupted like his mom.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Biggus Dickus: He has a considerably bigger penis compared to the other male cast. Mikako's flashback showed that his father also had one. Like Father, Like Son?
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: He is a very pretty, delicate young boy. If it wasn't for his perverted behaviour and his constant exposure, it would be hard to guess his gender.
  • Transgender: Is forced to become one in one of the endings.

Hiroyuki Nonohara

Makoto's father and Mikako's husband. He got in debt with the Mamiyas, with seemingly no way out of it.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Biggus Dickus: He has one like his son, as showed in Mikako's flashback..
  • Death by Sex: He died while having sex with his wife during one of the Mamiyas' feasts. It was implied that Marie killed her by milking his balls dry then broke them, something that she later similarly did with Makoto (though not the breaking part).
  • Disappeared Dad: He did not appear in the main story, only at Mikako's flashback.

Francesca Maty

Marie's foreign friend with extravagant taste.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:

Yukari Kimishima

Another of Marie's friends but, by the name, full japanese. Said to overwork her slaves to even a bigger degree than Marie, and that is an impressive feat.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Bad Boss: Said to explore her slaves to the point of utter exhaustion. And as Yukito discovers in the ending where Marie sells him to her, to death.
  • Odango: Her hairstyle.
  • Qipao: In her "normal" sprite.
