Disappeared Dad: We never see his dad and if him being ripped out of photo is any indication, Lila would like to keep it that way.

Tragic Villain: It's implied he was molested by his uncle and his parents are implied to be abusive.

Everyone Has Standards: In 'Deadly Smiles', he and Robert (and Dexter) get upset when Roy says 'gimme your clothes'. They do apologize when he clarifies he just wants their sweaters.
Like Father, Like Son: Word of God says he gets his looks from his mom, but personality from his dad.
