Violet Evergarden: The Movie

Should tropes from The Movie go on this page, or a dedicated page?

  • The film is standalone, and I believe it can be watched without seeing the original series, but some aspects will be confusing to people who haven't seen it, supporting the idea of a separate page.
  • The film continues the story of characters in the original series, supporting the idea of putting it on this page.

I'm pretty sure "Multiple Works need Separate Pages" was a rule, this is the first time someone on this wiki told it like it was subjective.

Look, ilikecomputers, sequels always spoil the prequels. It's for the best to even separate anime from light novels. The definition of what is and what is not a spoiler is also easier to make if we can define a beginning and an ending.

The weird part? This very page separates the anime from the light novel. Plus, I already linked to the film on the page about Kyoto Animation, so clearly I subconsciously knew that this needs a separate page. Now that I've thought about it, I don't even know why I'm asking this question.

Dedicated page. Lumping vs. splitting (in my generalized opinion) is more a matter of how to view tropes, which can often sit on a continuum ranging from finely-focused to overbroad. In the case of works, trying to cram multiple works into a single page and go into detail on them just ends up with a muddled page.

I think we're ready

I've moved it out into Main. If we haven't said it enough recently, thanks for all your efforts.
